I’ve had quite the experience getting my lips re-done. I had to dissolve them twice, now I’ve gone back another 2 times for a full syringe and then .5. These two bumps are really bothering me and I’m wondering if they can be spot dissolved without hopefully messing up the rest of my lips? I was originally hoping the .5 would even it out more but now my lips look even bumpier than before. Is it possible that these are granuloma?

Answer: Lip filler injections Bumps on the lips after filler injections can have different causes, including small areas of filler accumulation, inflammation, or infection. It is essential to have a consultation with the healthcare provider who performed the injections to assess the cause of the bumps. If the bumps are caused by small areas of filler accumulation, they may be able to be spot dissolved with hyaluronidase, which is an enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid fillers. The healthcare provider may need to evaluate the bumps to determine if spot dissolving is the appropriate treatment. Granulomas are a rare but possible side effect of filler injections. They are small, firm bumps that form when the immune system reacts to the filler. Granulomas may require a more specialized treatment, such as steroid injections or excision. An “in person” exam would be necessary. It is important to communicate your concerns with your healthcare provider and have a thorough consultation to determine the best course of action for your specific case. Your healthcare provider can evaluate the bumps and discuss the potential risks and benefits of any treatment options. Best of luck !

Answer: Spot dissolving does not work. Spot dissolving filler in the lips is not usually successful because once the hyaluronidase is in the lip, it is very difficult (impossible) to control where it spreads. Lip filler should not look lumpy. Sometimes if feeling the lips you can feel lumps of filler inside, but you should never see visible lumps. This is usually the result of suboptimal technique when placing the filler.
