Does 10% of lip filler get left behind in the form of scar tissue in the majority of cases?

It's possible that your baseline appearance may have changed after receiving multiple injections and dissolving the filler once. The extent of the changes will depend on several factors, including the amount and type of filler used, the frequency of injections, and your individual anatomy.

When you go in to dissolve the filler again, it's important to have an open and honest conversation with your injector about your goals and expectations. They can help you understand what to expect after the filler is dissolved and may recommend additional treatments to help improve the appearance of your lips, such as a lip flip or a different type of filler.

It's also important to take a break from injections and allow your lips to fully heal before considering any additional treatments. This can help prevent further damage to the natural structure of your lips and allow you to achieve a more natural and balanced appearance.

Injectable fillers, even temporary ones, have a propensity for eliciting an immune response and causing scar tissue, nodules and bumps. After 6 syringes of filler, you may be correct that some of your lip changes are from scar tissue and not persistent hyaluronic acid .Hope this helps. Sincerely, Dr Joseph

As a general rule of thumb fillers, do not leave any permanent long-term volume. Long-term changes are the exception rather than the rule.
Variables that can influence scar tissue formation are primarily related to incidental excess bleeding, which increases inflammation during the healing process. If you’ve had surgical intervention, then that is more likely explanation for long-term changes in your lips. If it’s been six months, then there’s no point in injecting Enzymatic reversal, drugs
Some long term changes from using fillers, don’t have clinical explanations.
