I’ve been getting lip filler for over 3 years, gone to the same doctor everytime and been happy. Recently I got them dissolved twice, then came back in for 1 syringe. I’ve never had my lips look lopsided or get these weird bumps. I’ve given them a good amount of time to heal and my doctor said that I would have to pay for more fine tuning. I’ve frankly never had this problem and don’t get how 1 syringe could have been injected this unevenly. Should I go to a different doctor?

Answer: Unhappy with lip fillers The decision of having asthmatic treatments should be yours and yours alone. You can obviously get the input of various providers. Whether you stick with your current provider or choose a new one, it’s a decision you will need to make. Some people do notice long-term changes after having fillers, especially those who had them multiple times that seem unresponsive to dissolving Fillers. We don’t really know exactly why that is but most likely it represents some swelling due to ongoing inflammation and potential formation of scar tissue. There are inherent risk with all medical procedures, including aesthetic treatments, like lip, fillers. Patients need to except that these risks are real, and they should be willing to accept them if they want to have the treatments. In reality the number of patients who have perfect results every time and never have a single complication is exceedingly rare. Likewise providers who can do consistent results without needing to do revisions. It’s also pretty uncommon. Best, Mats Hagstrom, MD
