My doc said not necessary and her company who provides her with brochures it don’t have it in there so she said it’s not a big deal. Is it really not?? Or where Can I buy one if I wanted to and where? Also I’m flying overseas 4 days after Lipo is that safe? Thank you
Answer: Compression Garment Question-Ask Your Doctor & After care includes Venus Legacy, Exilis, Kybella, Ultherapy, Hyperbaric Oxygen I recommend following up with your Doctor about their protocol regarding compression. I have my patients wear customized compression. To speed up healing, you can try adding hyperbaric oxygen, lymphatic massage, venus legacy or exilis radiofrequency treatments. To improve final results, we will often do a kybella and ultherapy about 4-6 weeks after neck liposuction to get more of an outcome. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Compression garment after liposuction Thanks so much for reaching out. I usually ask my patients to use a compression garment anywhere I do liposuction for a few weeks. I find it a little suspicious that your physician is relying on a brochure provided to them to make a medical decision. I would be sure to see a board certified plastic surgeon for the best plan and treatment.I hope this helps :)

Answer: Is compression garment essential after Lipo for Buffalo Hump? Follow your PS's post operative guidelines regarding the type of compression garment and the duration of wear, because each plastic surgeon will have a different protocol. Because removal of the fibrous tissue is confined to a small area, your PS may not require the compression garment. Also, best to ask your PS about flying overseas four days after the procedure as she will be familiar with your surgery and recovery.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA

Answer: Compression garments after liposuction Thank you for your question. Every surgeon will have his/her own preferences as to recovery for specific procedures. It's best to follow your surgeons specific advice post-operatively. We typically have our patients wear compression garments on the areas we did liposuction to help the skin and underlying tissues re-adhere as well as reduce swelling. This helps ontrol swelling as the compression on your tissues helps your body to reabsorb the edema fluid that accumulates in the tissues after any procedure. This can take quite some time to happen without help from the compression garments. It also helps improve contour. Compression helps to keep the tissues adherent to the underlying structures while healing, this can help prevent the wrinkled skin appearance that can happen when the tissues heal in ways we don't want them to.

Answer: Liposuction A compression garment would still be helpful if you can find one. Companies do make some garments, and you might find a compression shirt at sports stores like Academy. Flying soon after surgery does increase the risk of blood clots. If only your buffalo hump is being treated, you procedure should be fairly short. I would suggest getting up at least twice during the flight and walk the isle or go to the bathroom. You also may notice more swelling at higher altitudes.
