Is there anything I can do to smooth out the ripples or uneven skin that resulted from liposuction? (Photo)

Dear LanaRain85,while there is always a chance for contour irregularities with liposuction, someone who takes their time and uses the appropriate sized cannulas should give you a superb result.I have all my patients wear compression garments and I use multiple sized cannulas to feather out the result. If you are considering a revision, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Based on your photos, your problem does not seem to be very significant.  While you may benefit from a conservative fat transfer to areas of depression, more surgery could make a very mild problem worse.  Laser lipo or Vaser may help but it is difficult to make that assessment based on your photos.  Consult with board certified plastic surgeons in your area to determine the best treatment options.  Best of luck!

For best results, I recommend a hi definition procedure like a VASER liposuction revision. I use VASER HI DEF with ThermRF and fat grafting to get the most fat removal, skin tightening, contour and definition. This combination will give you the most toned result. There are a variety of methods to try to correct or improve contour irregularities after prior liposuction. Evaluation starts with an exam in the office to assess the contours, skin elasticity, fat distribution, and other factors. Revision procedures can include noninvasive therapies like VelaShape or other body contouring devices, VaserSmooth therapy to break up irregularities from the inside, Kybella (off label) to try to dissolve fat nodules or bulges, revision liposuction, and fat grafting. Sometimes one or more techniques need to be combined. See a body contouring plastic surgeon expert.

The treatments that work for me for smoothing the skin post liposuction include Fotona Tight Sculpting, Velashape, MedSculpt, Zimmer Z-Wave.  If spot areas of fat are left, spot liposuction, CoolSculpting, UltraShape or fat dissolving injections can also be used to remove small pockets of left over fat.  If the skin texture is crepe, SkinFinity or Fotona Smooth Mode erbium laser is helpful on the surface.

If there are some irregularities which are present these can often times be improved with an additional surgery to smooth them out. Thank you for your question. You seem to have a very nice result, but perhaps in person and in better lighting the ripples are more apparent. This may be due to weight loss, or just aging and the liposuction - regardless, I would suggest an in-person consultation with a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon to better determine your options. Fat grafting can be used to help smooth things out, or other laser-based modalities. Best of luck!
