Does Liposuction affect fertility?

Thanks for an outside the box question, anecdotally I have had a few patients have irregular or missed periods in and around the time of surgery but this is likely from stress of surgery on the body, I would not assume and long term fertility issues

Thank you for your post. Liposuction should not have any effect on your fertility. It does cause some stress on the body but it should have no effect on short or long term fertility.

Liposuction has no effect on your fertility. You may have some stress symptoms but your fertility will not be affected.

Liposuction is surgery and surgery is stress. Right during the time of liposuction, you may not be as fertile because of the stress. Also, you will be sore and wearing garments, so you may decide that sex is off the table for a while until you recover.

Good morning Esther, thank you for your inquiry. Liposuction is designed to remove subcutaneous fat and is not suppose to affect internal organs or the reproductive system. There should be no impact on fertility. Have a safe procedure choosing a board certified plastic surgeon.
