It’s been 4 weeks since restylane under my eyes. They’re still lumpy and I’m scared that now it’s permanently discolored. I’m going next week to get it dissolved it looks worse than before. Will it go back to normal? I want it out now I’m so upset.
Answer: Hyaluronidase to dissolve Restylane If you are unhappy with the look of your undereye/tear trough filler, having it dissolved with hyaluronidase is the answer. It should revert to the way it looked before the filler after a few days. The good thing to know is that Restylane, in my opinion, is the best product to have injected in that location because it is actually the easiest filler to dissolve, if it needs to be. Good luck.Hope that helps.

Answer: Tear trough rejuvenation Hi @dorchester123. The filler most likely was not placed in the proper tissue plane. Most facial filler products that are injected into this area should ideally be placed in the tissue plane directly on top of the bone, or at least underneath the eyelid muscle layer. If a facial filler product is placed too superficial in the skin, or on top of the muscle layer, the product may settle in with an abnormal appearance and can look to be lumpy, swollen, or irregular. The filler products that are preferred to treat this area will have some degree of affinity for water molecules so all of these products will exhibit some degree of hydration and swell once injected into the body. Hyaluronic acid facial filler products that were previously injected into an improper tissue plane can be dissolved by Hyaluronidase injections. Best of luck to you, Dr. Nima!

Answer: Undereye filler Hello, thank you for the question. I am sorry to hear about your experience! I see several patients a year who suffer from bad injections from other injectors. I would find a board certified surgeon in your area that does injectables as well to give you hyaluronidase to dissolve the Restylane and provide professional corrective injection services. Good luck!

Answer: Under eye filler Thank you for your question. I would suggest seeing a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon or Dermatologist to see if you can have the product dissolved earlier. Restylane is a temporary product and should go back to baseline even if you didn't dissolve the product. Best of luck to you.

Answer: Under eye filler gone wrong? Help! Will it go back to normal I'm sorry that you are experiencing these issues after your filler treatment. Sometimes it will take more than one treatment to fully dissolve the filler, but over time they should return to how you were prior to filler. Be sure to see an expert injector for your treatment.

Answer: Restylane as an Undereye Filler The dissolvable nature of hyaluronic acid fillers makes them a great option for situations like this. If there is an internal issue, the removal of the filler using hyaluronidase is a simple solution. It's important to find a licensed injector that specializes in this technique, to avoid further complications. In this sensitive area of the face, it's important to use a technique that avoids disrupting the tissue. A preferred way of creating a smooth under-eye, is utilizing a cannula for injection. As for the bruising and swelling, that should ease with time. All the best! -Dr. Jimmy S. Firouz.
