Thank you for the question. While bruising after fillers is not uncommon, particularly around the delicate area of the eyes, the extent of bruising and the duration can be difficult to predict. If you are concerned, I recommend talking to your doctor before your treatment. Simple steps like avoiding anti-inflammatory medications and taking Arnica supplements can often reduce the amount of bruising you experience. I wish you all the best as you pursue your aesthetic goals!
Most patients are back to normal by two weeks. Rarely, a severe bruise can cause hemosiderin staining in the skin, which can take several months to resolve quickly. This is very uncommon and covers easily with makeup.
Bruising, swelling, sometimes discoloration, lumps, and bumps are normal side effects assuming proper injection. They should be gone in a matter of days. Medications will also help.
Bruising after fillers can persist up to two weeks. There are actions you can take to help minimize bruising. Avoid NSAIDS, Vitamin E supplements, aspirin and other medications that can thin the blood for a week prior to treatment. Some patients find using Arnica post injection is helpful in controlling bruising. Intermittent cold packs may also help.
Great question! Everyone is so different and react differently. The risk of bruising may happen from treating any area on the face. To help minimize the chance you can stop taking blood thinning agents such as Advil, Aspirin, etc.. (If medically cleared to stop these medications), also taking bromelian and/or arnica can help form and/or reduce the bruising time. Generally a bruise can last 1-2 week.
Thank you for your question! There is always a risk of bruising with any injectable, particularly when injected in the thinner skin of the tear troughs. I would recommend, if medically able, to discontinue any blood thinning medications prior to your treatment and avoid alcohol. Two weeks is typically enough time for bruising to resolve. The supplement Arnica can help minimize and hasten the resolution of bruising and swelling. Unfortunately, everyone has a different tendency to bruise. If you know you typically bruise, best to allow time time for healing.
Hi and thanks for the question. Bruising is definitely a common concern and I am glad you addressed it. Although bruising around the eyes is rare you can prepare yourself for a filler procedure by not taking medicine that could increase the potential for bleeding like ibuprofen. Also to assist in the avoidance take Arnica before and after your treatment. Should a bruise still occur it should resolve in at least 10 days. Good luck and hope your results are outstanding.
Tear trough fillers lead great results. However the bruising from this location can last one or two weeks. If you take Arnica before the procedure you will have much less bruising. Best, Dr. Green
I rarely see bruising except for around the eyes. It is best to avoid medications that may cause bleeding. If you do get a bruise it may take 1-2 weeks to resolve.
I would recommend that you find an experienced injector who uses a cannula instead of a sharp needle to inject. This will greatly reduce the risk of severe bruising. Regards,Dr. Ort
Hi @Liana_388. I would recommend dissolving the lumps prior to adding more filler. I would dissolve 1-2 weeks prior to treatment. I recommend seeking treatments from expert injectors who have the skill and experience to precisely inject fillers into treatment areas and avoid risks and...
This particular medication thins the blood which in turn can increase your chances for bruising. Your best choice would be acetaminophen which is Tylenol.Good luck.....
Hi @kate03rich. Chances are the filler was not placed in the proper tissue plane. Most facial filler products that are injected into this area should ideally be placed in the tissue plane directly on top of the bone, or at least underneath the eyelid muscle layer. If a facial filler product is...
