The only difference in a mini vs a full abdominoplasty is how long the incision is. A mini tummy tuck is going to have a smaller incision than a full tummy tuck. Muscle repair, removal of excess skin, and liposuction are all included with both a mini and a full tummy tuck. When the stretch marks extend into the upper abdomen as in your photos, it is not a good idea to try a mini tummy tuck. A full tummy tuck will tighten the entire abdomen, thin the fat layer throughout, and repair a muscle separation if present (likely after 3 children.)

based on your photos, you look like a good candidate for a TT. Full tummy tuck should tighten your abdominal muscles and remove the excess skin. Flanks liposuction would give you a better shape. Yes, you would get good results with a mini tuck and liposuction to your upper abdomen. However, you will get your best results and the flattest abdomen with a full tuck.

From your photos it appears you are a good candidate for a standard tummy tuck with liposuction for contouring. The mini tuck would not be able to fully address the abdomen. The standard tuck would remove excess fat and skin as well as many of your stretch marks. Abdominal wall laxity would also be corrected. The next step is to visit with a board certified plastic surgeon near you for a consultation.

After looking at your photos I am not sure a mini tummy tuck would be adequate for you. It looks as if you have a fair amount of loose, excess skin that extends above your belly button. In my professional opinion just doing a mini tummy tuck will not yield the best results because a mini only addresses the skin and tissue under the belly button. I think you would need a traditional abdominoplasty to get really nice results.

Mini tummy tuck is a mini procedure you are not really a good candidate for a mini tummy tuck. You should consider a full tummy tuck but to be a good candidate for that procedure you need to lose weight first. you may find surgeons willing to do a full tummy tuck now and you may find one’s willing to do a mini tummy tuck. You have significant skin laxity and muscle separation from previous pregnancies. It doesn’t make sense to have a hip to hip scar and still have a bulging abdomen.
My recommendation is weight loss followed by a full tummy tuck. I think you’ll find other plastic surgeons will concur for the most part.

With your history of 3 pregnancies and your submitted photo it appears that you need a full TT. A mini TT would not be sufficiently helpful. While the scope of the surgery is more extensive for a full TT, the incision is similar. You should consult with a Board Certified PS. Good luck!
