I’m a 29 year old 5 ft 2, 140 lbs female. I recently got a bbl and 360 liposuction with the intent to get a tummy tuck once healed. I absolutely love the results of my body and I’m not 100% sure that a tummy tuck would be necessary as my stomach is now almost completely flat. My concern is that my stretch marks on my stomach are now very apparent aswell as the ripple of the extra skin. If I need to get the tummy tuck I will do that but are there any other options to fix the condition ?

If this was done, then with time, there is a high likelihood the skin will tighten down. If, however, more traditional methods of liposuction were performed, then the likelihood of skin laxity may be real and lasting. Often, a tummy tuck is the correct solution and will address this. However, a new treatment called Quantum, designed as a pure skin tightener, may be a reasonable possibility to attempt prior to committing to a tummy tuck, as a tummy tuck is a more involved procedure. In addition, something to consider is that if you plan on having children after your current procedure, then one is better served waiting to perform the tummy tuck until one is 100% sure they are done having children.

Unfortunately, you’re not an ideal candidate for liposuction. After liposuction, due to the early formation of excessive fibrosis, your abdomen may appear tight in the short term. However, over time, skin tightness will decrease, and the appearance will worsen. Because the skin elasticity in the upper abdomen decreases due to the fibrosis caused by liposuction, performing a tummy tuck becomes more difficult for both the surgeon and the patient. It would have been better if you had opted for lipoabdominoplasty without undergoing liposuction. Right now, the best option is to wait at least 6-8 months after liposuction and then have a lipoabdominoplasty. This way, you can get rid of the stretch marks below the belly button, and since the abdominal muscles will be repaired, you’ll achieve a flatter stomach and a slimmer waist. As your abdominal skin is tightened, the stretch marks on the skin above the belly button will become less noticeable.
