my breasts are extremely wide spaced, something that I'm not too sure augmentation will even slightly correct. I'm a pretty realistic person and am definitely not expecting anywhere close to perfection, but if I'm going to spend all this money, I hope the results would make a difference ( for the better) I know I'm on the severe end of "bad" and not like those girls who get BA with small and perky breasts, so I'm not too sure if there's even hope for me. Any insight would be much appreciated.
Answer: Separated breasts... With a wide separation, I prefer to recommend breast implants that are wider than the natural breast base, but not overly wide. I also could consider a breast implant with 3rd generation gummy bear gel like a Memory shape breast implant to push the pectoral muscle more and get better cleavage. You will need to see a board certified plastic surgeon to get you measurements and a recommendation. Best, Dr. ALDO

Answer: Breast augmentation I have many patients like you and your result should be quite good. The 'spacing' between the breasts can seem off because you don't have much volume and the sternum/breast bone may make things seem wider. There are ways of giving you a lot of 'medial' fullness without causing any problems. Above all, you should look natural and still be satisfied. A surgeon with a lot of experience (at least 10-15 years) will be able to sort these things out for your. Hope this helps.Leland Deane MD FACS

Answer: Implants Placing an implant in the submuscular plane will bring your breast closer together to some degree. However, with this being said, they can't be placed too close together as this may result in a synmastia. Regardless, breast implants will help you. I recommend an in-office examination as well as a detailed discussion with a surgeon who you are comfortable with and who is a Double-Board Certified Plastic Surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Best wishes! Dr. Desai

Answer: Breast augmentation Hello and thank you for your question. The best advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation. With that being said, based on your photographs, you are a great candidate for a breast augmentation. The size, profile, and shape of the implant is based on your desired breast size/shape, your chest wall measurements, and soft tissue quality. This decision should be based on a detailed discussion with equal input from both you and your surgeon. Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results. The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person. Best wishes and good luck. Richard G. Reish, M.D. Harvard-trained plastic surgeon

Answer: Breast Augmentation for Wide Breasts Abby. First off, your breasts are not that bad!!! Yes there is modest ptosis with slight asymmetry and they are somewhat wide apart, but their overall shape is quite pleasing! You need to look at the big picture with regards to breast augmentation. If your only desire is trying to get your breasts closer together, then breast augmentation may not be for you. However, if you desire to increase their size and plump up their shape, then you should consider it. Check out the link below for a more comprehensive description of the breast augmentation process. As always, Be sure to consult with a board certified plastic surgeon. Good luck!

Answer: Wide space between breasts. You are already ahead of the game by understanding your anatomy and potential limitations. Yes, the space is slightly wider than average, but that does not mean the distance cannot be narrowed. It can be narrowed to a degree using wide implants and making sure the pocket is dissected towards the center, to a limit. The key here is selecting a surgeon with experience and training that we will dissect the pocket and implant wide enough, but not go so far as to release the muscle, and risk symmastia. Do your research and find a skilled surgeon.Best of luck! Dr. SubbioBoard-Certified Plastic SurgeonNewtown Square/Philadelphia, PA
