I just had breast augmentation yesterday. I woke up from a nap to the top area of my breasts being itchy, red and warm. My cheeks are flushed as well, but I do not have a fever. Is this normal?

Answer: Rash after BA A rash such as you describe can be one of two things. If the rash extends only to the area that would've been prepped with the solution to sterilize the skin, then this represents a contact dermatitis. If this rash extends to the back or below the area prepped on the chest, then this represents a drug allergy. Either way, I treat these rashes with topical corticosteroids and occasionally a Medrol dose pack orally. Consult your plastic surgeon for their regimen. Best of luck with your recovery.
