Is 450cc high profile too big for me at 5'2 and 127lbs? (Photos)

Hello and thank you for your question and sharing your photos. I agree with your surgeon that mastopexy-augmentation seem to be a good option for you. In terms of the implant size, many factors including patient's desired breast size, skin envelope (both quality and quantity) and breast width diameter among others are important in selecting the implant size. Choosing the right implant should be a shared decision between you and your plastic surgeon. In a typical consultation, you try a variety of in-bra sizers and in combination with several other measurements that your surgeon will do, the final implant volume is selected. Use of 'goal pictures' is  also an effective way to communicate your goals with your plastic surgeon. Implants in the 300-400 cc range should give you what you are looking for. My best advice is that you communicate your goals and aesthetic ideals with your surgeon as clearly as possible and trust your surgeon's skills and abilities to deliver what you are looking for.

Hello, thank you for your question. A board certified plastic surgeon will be able to guide you to the correct size implant. Based upon measurements of your chest wall and breast imprint width as well as knowledge of all breast implant sizes and profiles should make this process easy. Try on a profile bra with various silicone sizers your PS recommends under a tailored blouse, tank top, bikini, workout clothes, and other garments you typically wear so that you have the best idea of whether the garments fit as desired with the implant selected. Select the size that boosts your self-esteem, and fits your anatomy. Choosing an implant based on an aesthetic goal that exceeds your anatomic capacity may lead to complications and possibly revision later in life.

At size 34 C, each 100 cc of implant corresponds to 1 cup size change.  400 cc implants will take you up 4 cup sizes to a size G.  Also, 400 cc implants may not fit in your body and will stretch out your lift.  Instead, I recommend a lift using the no vertical scar technique.  This will reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage.  Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained.  Later, fat transfers can be performed if additional volume is desired.  Implants are not lifetime devices.  8% fail within the first year and 30% fail within six years.  Fat transfers are permanent and incorporated into the body.Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Hi and many thanks for posting your question.Fundamentally, I think its important to appreciate that anyone who is indicated for a breast lift will, by definition, have a droop to their breast, due to a result of poor elasticity and support in the tissues (skin and soft tissue). Therefore, adding a weight to this tissue (even at the same time as a lift) will put further stretch and pressure on the tissue.Therefore, compromise is normally advised when combining a lift with implants - go too big, and they will drop sooner than desired (as well as increase the risk of wound healing problems).I would therefore recommend bearing this in mind when considering your choice - i would recommend your choice is for the longterm best result, so (from my perspective),  I think the size you are considering is higher than I would recommend.I hope this helps

Breast implant size depends on several variables including the patients breast width, skin quality, body proportions and patient desire.  Examination, implant fitting, and photos help determine preoperatively what the patient desires for their breast augmentation.  An estimate often used in plastic surgery, for each 150cc breasts enhance one bra size. 

After I measure and discuss goals with my patients, we then look at pictures of women with similar measurements with different size and style breast implants. My patients tell me that this process is very helpful in determining what size breast implant is right for them.

I actually think you are a better candidate for the so called lollipop lift. It’s ideal for you. Fewer scars involved and less likely to bottom out. Ask your surgeon about this option and if you would be a good candidate.

Hello and thank you for your question.  The best advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation.  Based on your photographs, the best shape and contour could be achieved with an implant and a breast lift.  400-450cc will likely accomplish your goals.  The size, profile, and shape of the implant is based on your desired breast size/shape, your chest wall measurements, and soft tissue quality.  This decision should be based on a detailed discussion with equal input from both you and your surgeon.   Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results.

breast implant type and sizing selection is a complicated process and requires a detailed consultation that includes a discussion of your goals, a detailed examination, and a lengthy discussion. But the decision will always start and end with the patient. When it comes to sizing, we have all of our patients find 3 photos of their desired breast size. We ask for naked breast photos because clothing can obscure the true size (push up bras). Next, we consult with patients and go over the photos and take detailed breast measurements during a physical exam. Next, we using a sizing algorithm to determine a range of implants that will work based on the exam and the measurements.Lastly, during the operation, we use silicone sizers in the operating room to see how the size actually looks in the breast. We sit the patient up in the operating room, while asleep of course, and compare the sizer result with their desired look photos. If it is too small, we start the process over with a slightly larger implant. We don't stop until we get the perfect match.Of all of my breast augmentation patients, every one of them has been happy with their size due to this detailed and meticulous process. You don't want to invest time and money into a result that is either too big or too small.You should discuss your concerns with a board-certified plastic surgeon and make sure that your surgeon understands your goals.

The 450 cc implant will probably be too large and heavy for your frame. I would suggest meeting with a board certified plastic surgeon, being measured and examined, and trying on the range of sies that best fits your frame and tissue. If you go too big, your own tissue thins and you will sag.
