Should I get alar base reduction by itself or with tip-plasty?

Question

should i get alar-plasty in conjunction with tip-plasty or just alar-plasty by itself? one of the pictures from above show my natural nose and the other is how i image it will look from the front with just alar-plasty done.

Hello and thank you for the question and sharing your photos. I believe you are a great candidate for rhinoplasty. You do have a bulbous tip and alar flaring and will benefit from both tip-plasty and alar base reduction. My best advice is that you discuss your concerns and aesthetic goals with a board-certified plastic surgeon with extensive experience in performing rhinoplasty. I would ask to see before and after pictures of their real patients. It's important that you trust your surgeon's skills and ability to achieve the results you are looking for. In particular, pay attention to your surgeon's experience with rhinoplasty. Best,

To decide regarding to decide regarding the best course of action for you,  it is important to appreciate that we see things in comparative fashion. 
If the alar base is narrowed and the tip doesn't change, the tip with actually look slightly larger.
Conversely, if the tip is narrowed and the alar base remains the same, the nostrils will look slightly more flared. 
You can evaluate in a computer simulation the impact of isolated or combined changes, and this will help you to decide what is the aesthetic balance that you are most comfortable with.

Thank you for your question! Based on your frontal picture, it seems like you would benefit from some tip work. Looking at your photos, the look that you wish to achieve can be accomplished by doing an alar reduction procedure. If you are happy with the tip, then this can be left alone. The procedure you need depends on what concerns you about your nose. If you wish to have the tip reduced and more refined then you will need a rhinoplasty to achive this. For optimal outcome, please consult a fully qualified plastic surgeon, who
has specialist qualification in plastic surgery 'FRCS Plast' after having being
trained adequately in the field of plastic surgery, is registered on the
'Specialist register for Plastic surgery' with the General Medical Council and
has been considered competent enough to be a member of the 'BAPRAS' (British
Association of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons) and 'BAAPS'
(British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons) at the least.

You are an excellent candidate for an alarplasty. If you get the alarplasty as a stand alone procedure it can be performed under local anesthesia and would be much less expensive than the addition of the tip plasty. Either option is fine and would be entirely up to you.

Based on your photographs, you may benefit from a tip refining rhinoplasty which can be performed by trimming, suturing, and reshaping the cartilage in your lower nose. You may also benefit from an alar base reduction. Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and not just a computer animation system. You should be able to view numerous pictures of actual patients with noses similar to yours performed by your surgeon. If you cannot find enough real before and after pictures, then consider continuing your search for a surgeon. Best wishes and good luck.

Different parts of nose are intricately related to each other and changing one part affects the other. To get a balanced nose you need to have comprehensive nasal tip surgery. 
There is no side view of the nose. For instance increasing the projection of your tip of your nose will to a great extent reduce the alar width. If you don't require require nasal tip projection still a tip plasty to refine the tip of nose is required along with alar plasty. As a refined tip along with narrow alar base would look more balanced.
