Revision for rhinoplasty with alar base reduction? (Photo)

Question

Trying to run away from a bad childhood, I made the decision to have rhinoplasty at the age of 18 in Sunrise (Florida). At the age of 27 I decided to give it another try in Colombia after an unsuccessful surgery in 2007. Biggest mistake, as this has left me botched. I wanted to have a smaller nose, the surgen did alarplasty but left the scars in the wrong place. Now they are very visible and have shatter my confidence. Can this be fixed? Will the third time be The charmed?

In person exam is essential as well as review of pre-op photos and reading the op-reports would be helpful. Based on your photos- it appears that in the right hands- improvements can be achieved through a  revision Rhinoplasty (closed technique) with possible cartilage grafting . Keep in mind that you have thick skin which can limit the degree of refinement

Hello,Your scars can be fixed with a revision rhinoplasty and based upon your photos you seem to have thick skin which can put some limitation. However, with pre-operation care thick skin can provide better results. You can have nice dorsum-tip transition, more balance, refined and overall narrower nose in the expert hands. You can have detailed face and nose analyses to make a customised treatment plan. Be sure that your surgeon is a professional, exprienced facial plastic surgeon.

Yes, the scars can be revised. You may want to also consider a resurfacing treatment such as dermabrasion to improve the quality of the scarring. In addition, based on your photos he may be a good candidate for cartilage work to improve the appearance of the bridge as well as the tip. This is especially the case if you have thicker skin.
