Getting a revision in a few weeks due to lateral displacement, bottoming out, and rippling. I am 5'4" and 103 lbs. Had 600cc silicone hp unders. Getting 485 cc silicone unders. Undecided about smooth/texture (really want to use smooth) or hp/ mod profile. Using Alloderm and getting capsuloraphy. I pole dance. I am scared this will cause displacement in the future. Is this a problem? Should I stop a certain amount of time before surgery? And how long should I wait after surgery to start again?

Answer: How much time off from exercise after a revision BA??? Ask Dr Ellen The best answer to your question is to have a detailed discussion with your surgeon- who is going to be doing quite a lot of technical work on your revision. What you do before the surgery will unlikely matter. Until your revision is completed, the exact details of what were done are not yet defined. He or she will guide you. Since you are going under the muscle and using Alloderm, care must be taken post op to allow the pocket to sufficiently heal to avoid any further displacement issues. Pole dancing engages the pect muscle quite a bit- Ask your doc!!In good health,Ellen Mahony, MD

Answer: Limitations What you do before the surgery shouldn't really affect things. Afterwards, however, I usually recommend six weeks of no exertion with the upper chest and shoulders. After that point, it is unlikely, though not impossible, that a trauma will displace things. Ultimately, you need to discuss limitations with your surgeon who is performing the procedure.Best of luck! Dr. SubbioBoard-Certified Plastic SurgeonNewtown Square/Philadelphia, PA
