Each surgeon has their own recommendations on alcohol before and after surgery. I typically advise patients that they should avoid alcohol for a minimum of 2 weeks.
Hello, thank you for your question. In our practice we recommend no alcohol for 3 days prior to surgery and no alcohol until medication is gone after surgery. Best of luck !
This is something to discuss with your surgeon as surgeons have different opinions on this. For my patients I want them to stop a week or two before surgery. Good luck.
Thanks for your question. Patients should stop drinking alcohol a week or two before the surgery. Best person to advice you will be your specific surgeon. You definitely have to choose your surgeon correctly and make sure that he/she has the training and experience to meet your goals with absolute safety. A key quality indicator is Board Certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Don’t settle for less than a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon with specialized expertise in this procedure.
Your surgeon has very specific protocols for this. In my own practice I don't really care if the patient has a drink the night before the operation.
Thanks for your question. For an occasional drinker, you will not need to make much of a change. Some of my patients have a glass of wine the night before surgery and it has no effect. High consumption however can be a big problem. It is safest to not drink, but a small quantity should not be detrimental. Best of Luck!

Thank you for your question. I do not think there is any actual protocol on how long to stop drinking alcohol prior to surgery. Different surgeons have different protocols and therefore it is important for you to consult with your surgeon. In my practice I usually have patients stop drinking alcohol one week prior to their surgery.

For most full tummy tuck patients, all of the skin and fat below the belly button is completely removed. The upper abdominal skin is then pulled down, and sutured at the bikini line. If the tattoo is on your upper abdomen, the tattoo will not be removed, but it will be in a...
Thank you for your question. We do not put patients on any type of diet prior to their tummy tuck. It is always important to maintain a healthy diet and stable weight for best results. Please check with your own plastic surgeon regarding their specific recommendations. Best of luck to you.
Thank you for sharing your question. Yes it is permitted to remove your binder when you go to the restroom and I would recommend speaking with your surgeon about a different style of garment, perhaps a compression one that better molds to your body. Hope this helps.
Thank you for sharing your question. Though laying on your stomach would apply external pressure to your skin it is unlikely to make a material difference in the formation of a seroma. You are better served with a compression garment that can provide pressure and can help minimize sheer. H...
This is a major issue with foreign surgery - lack of followup. If there is an urgent situation, you can go to an ER for assessment. Local plastic surgeons can work out financial deals with you as well to help manage you postoperatively - you can call and check if you would like to get a plastic...
Thanks for your inquiry, I have patients wear a camisole/spanx etc under their binders, please ask your surgeon if he/she would recommend as well, good luck.
