What happens to a stomach tattoo after lipo and TT? (Photo)

Question

I plan on getting a TT and Lipo but I want to know what will happen to my stomach tattoo the placement of my tattoo is very similar to the picture posted it does go in between my breast as well does the entire tattoo move or just the stomach part? Will some of it get cut off?

During a tummy tuck procedure, the skin between the belly button and supra pubic area (above the mons pubis) is all excised. So any part of the tattoo in this area will be affected. The upper tummy skin is moved down during a tummy tuck and your tattoo in the upper part of the tummy will be stretched down and will probably look vertically stretched. There will also be a scar around your belly button, which will end up somewhere within the tattoo.

For most full tummy tuck patients, all of the skin and fat below the belly button is completely removed. The upper abdominal skin is then pulled down, and sutured at the bikini line. If the tattoo is on your upper abdomen, the tattoo will not be removed, but it will be in a different, lower position. The tattoo will also be part of your new belly button your surgeon creates.

With the tummy tuck, you´ll have removed all the excess skin below the belly button, so a part of your tattoo will be removed with it too.

During an abdominoplastic procedure, excess skin is removed in your abdominal area and the remaining skin is stretched. In the same way, a part of your tattoo will be removed with the excess skin, while the upper part of your tattoo will be stretched vertically. The surgery, depending on the incision and amount of skin to be removed, may not have a good effect on your tattoo.

It all depends on how far down the tattoo goes and how far up your surgeon makes the incision.  Typically a surgeon will remove everything up to the belly button so if your tattoo is all above your belly button it should not be cut into.  
It will however be stretched vertically as the skin above the belly button gets pulled down and thus stretched.

Given that the tattoo is above your umbilicus,  it will not be removed with tummy tuck surgery.  Tummy tuck surgery generally removes skin from the pubic area to the level of the umbilicus.  Your tattoo will likely be stretched as the upper abdominal wall skin is pulled inferiorly during the procedure. Your plastic surgeon will be able to advise you more precisely. Best wishes for an outcome that you will be very pleased with.

Hello , If your tattoo ends  an inch or two  above belly button like in the picture, it will stretch . Lower part will stretch more than the part between the breasts . Its possible that your belly button will come through your tattoo . Since you have not posted your pictures, its hard to say accurately .
