I'm finally getting my breast done. It's a dream come true for me but... I'm so scared I might die and I have children. Im scared to be put to sleep. I have so many what if's! Is this normal? I've always wanted breast implants. I breastfed and my breast are flat. I want to be happy about my body.
Answer: I'm getting breast implant and I'm scared to die and I have children. Is it normal to feel this way? This is completely normal. Although elective surgery in healthy patients is incredibly safe these days it is still very common to be worried about these things before a procedure, especially when you have people that depend on you. Talk to your anesthesiologist before you go to sleep and they should be able to reassure you about the safety of a general anaesthetic in 2015. Hope that helps!

Answer: Afraid to death All surgery(and life!) carries some risk. Anesthesia risk, although low, is even lower with conscious sedation (twilight). Ask if this is an option.

Answer: Scared about anesthesia It is normal to be afraid of being put to sleep for surgery and if you were not a little afraid we would all be concerned. The truth is that if you are a healthy person and you are being put to sleep by a board certified anesthesiologist at a credentialed facility then you have a better chance of dying from the drive to the hospital. You should discuss your concerns with your surgeon and an anesthesia interview can be arranged prior to surgery. Good luck with your surgery!

Answer: Going under anesthesia scared to die normal This is very normal to feel anxiousness before you have anesthesia. It is called the fear of the unknown. Make sure you talk to your anesthesiologist before your procedure to alleviate some of the concerns of anesthesia. I would be concerned if you were not scared of general anesthesia. That is why you want to make sure that you are being operated in a fully accredited surgery center by a board certified anesthesiologist with lots of experience under his belt. Your risk is minimized see what my anesthesiologist has to say about it Good luck

Answer: Anesthetic concerns Hello, it is quite common for people to be concerned about being put to sleep for any operation. On the date of the procedure it is customary to meet the entire team including the anesthetist who is providing your general anesthetic, and for you to have an opportunity to understand the process of putting you to sleep and waking you back up. Hopefully this will help to make you more comfortable with the procedure.
