2 weeks post op Rhinoplasty, is it still swelling or what? (photos)

The postoperative time for most rhinoplasty patients is often fraught
with anxiety. During a rhinoplasty, the skin and soft tissues are often
completely separated from the underlying bone and cartilage framework. The
framework is modified and the skin is laid back down. These are big movements
that are often intended to create millimeter changes to the shape of the nose
once it heals. After a rhinoplasty the nose swells from the trauma of surgery
and the tissues become edematous. This makes the normally pliable skin firm and
causes the nose to take on a “weird” appearance in the first few weeks after
surgery. The nose continues to settle over the next few months as the edema finally
escapes and the soft tissues adapt to their new underlying framework. It will
take 6 months to a year to see a final result. Close follow-up with the surgeon
is essential. Assuming there is no infection, patients should allow at least 6
months for the swelling to resolve and the tissues to soften before
contemplating any changes. At that point, a detailed exam and discussion will
help delineate the best treatment option.

You are definitely still swollen from your surgery give it a few more weeks. Go back to the surgeon if you have any more concerns. Good luck.

You are most definitely still swollen at two weeks out from rhinoplasty. A lot of the asymmetry you see now is due to some of the swelling and tissue distortion, which should settle down. A rough guide is 60-70% of the swelling will typically resolve by 3 months out from surgery like this. Hang in there and happy healing.

Generally speaking, it can take 6 to 12 months to completely heal after surgery. Please keep in touch with your surgeon or his/her clinical team to discuss your ongoing concerns.

It is far too early to make any conclusions about the outcome of
your rhinoplasty. There is a significant amount of swelling that slowly
dissipates for up to six months or a year. Be patient!

Your final appearance will be apparent after much, much longer than 2 weeks.  Be patient.  Follow your surgeon's directions. 

Swelling will persist for 6-12 months. follow you surgeon's instructions and avoid contact sports.

Swelling is quite common early after rhinoplasty. Be patient, It should go back to what it was after splint removed. might take 4-6 months.

Dear Didadado, You are simply to early to determine any results and while it is difficult for patients during this time you must have patience and trust in the process. It is not uncommon for the nose to swell after the splint is removed. It does take an entire year for all of the swelling to dissipate however most of the swelling is reduced by your third post-operative month. Following Rhinoplasty, It may take you up to a year to appreciate the final outcome. Generally speaking, I tell my patients: In 1-2 weeks you see 60% of the result, 3 months 80% and from 6 months onwards, what you see is what you get. In my opinion, it is way early to judge on your final result.Meanwhile, I recommend that you share your concerns with your surgeon and adhere to your follow ups.
