Hello! I had an otoplasty 14 years ago and the results were very unnatural. Through the pictures you can see the "the telephone deformity" and the overcorrect antihelix. I'd like to reverse and get more naturals ears. Excuse me for my not perfect english. Thank you for help!
Answer: Otoplasty revision Primary otoplasties are challenging enough, and revision otoplasty significantly more so. I believe in "less is more" in this situation. Releasing the previously placed sutures in hopes of relaxing the overcorrected appearance is a reasonable option. It is wise to consult with an experienced surgeon, like you have. In your consultation with your surgeon, make sure you are very specific as to what bothers you about the appearance of each ear. Ears are complex structures. There isn't just one technique that addresses each issue. Seek consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon who is experienced with external ear surgery. Good Luck!

Answer: Otoplasty revision Hello there. Thank you for your question. An otoplasty revision is definitely possible after this length of time. There are some surgical techniques that require a specific stitching method in order to correct the positioning of the ear to your desired look. I would recommend getting a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your goals and to go over your options.

Answer: Is it possible for an otoplasty revision? These changes indicate that you had your ears pinned with a traditional method because they are not possible with the modern minimally invasive Dr. Merck stitch method. As the current position is fixed by scars, it will be hardly possible to improve this condition. One could bring just the tips of the ears slightly closer to the head, but the question is whether this would really be worth it as it would only involve possible changes of a few millimeters.
