Rhinoplasty is an art, and takes years of experience and thousands of procedures to master. If you like the surgeon as an individual and think his/her work is top-notch, then, I believe, the fee you were quoted is reasonable.
The cost of Rhinoplasty is determined by the extent of the surgery. More complicated procedures take longer and therefore surgeon's fees and OR and anesthesia fees are higher. The fees are also a result of the skill and experience of the surgeon and the geographic location. While cost is a factor, it is more important that you choose a surgeon you feel comfortable understands your goals.
Hello and thank you for your question. There are many different rhinoplasty fees across the country. The important aspect to your decision is that you are seeing a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who feel comfortable with.Best wishes and good luck
The quote you were given is reasonable even though the national average for a rhinoplasty is below this. The cost of a rhinoplasty often depends on the expertise a surgeon has with this procedure. The professional fee for a rhinoplasty will tend to vary considerably. Rhinoplasty is a procedure that takes years to master and cost definitely should not be the main factor in deciding on a surgeon. Take care. Timothy A. Janiga MD, FACS
The cost of a rhinoplasty is directly related to the 3 components it takes to perform the procedure which include the surgeon's fee, the operating room fee, and anesthesia fee. It is also important to ask about the percentage of touch-up rates and the fees associated with them as well a year later. It is important a shop quality, not price, since the nose is the most central and prominent feature on the patient's face. Is this for a first time rhinoplasty? Prices vary by region and the experience of the surgeon. For your area, it seems high, so you could consult with 2 other board-certified plastic or facial plastic surgeons to compare results and prices. Price should not be your ultimate guide, but if the other surgeons have a significantly lower price and also have comparable results and online reviews you could discuss that with the initial surgeon. If the surgeon is only a rhinoplasty surgeon with a national reputation it may well be justified. Best wishes.
Cosmetic surgery is priced according to where you live and what needs to be done. For a corrective secondary rhinoplasty needing rib cartilage, etc., the fee seems fair. For a primary uncomplicated rhinoplasty it seems excessive. Interestingly, your OR and anesthesia fees seem low-good for you!
Fees vary from city to city and office to office as does skill. You can certainly find a lower price if you go on more consults and compare fees.Dr. Corbin
Hi, I have performed and taught Rhinoplasty for over 30 years. I have had many patients travel nationally and internationally for Rhinoplasty Surgery. Price varies dramatically based on the following criteria:Experience of Rhinoplasty Surgeon.Reputation of Rhinoplasty Surgeon.Geographic location of Rhinoplasty Surgeon (Beverly Hills and Park Avenue would be higher that other US cities). The aesthetic judgement of the Rhinoplasty Surgeon.Complexity of the Rhinoplasty to be performed. It should come as now surprise that some Rhinoplasties are far more complicated than others.Fees with highly skilled, experienced Rhinoplasty Surgeons with great reputations and aesthetic skills can be $12,000 to $15,000 or more IMHO.Hope this helps.
A surgeon's results, reputation and responsiveness to your needs, as well as the region where the facility is located, are what drives most of the fees. Whether the fee presented seems high or low, it's wise to invest your time and money in 2 - 3 consultations. The fee does seem out of the norm, however.
I recommend that my patients not wear glasses for at least 4 weeks after rhinoplasty surgery. Wearing glasses post rhinoplasty will apply pressure to the bridge of the nose, which can cause indentations. Talk to your surgeon and ask to show you how to tape your glasses from the forehead to avoid...
This can sometimes happen if the tear ducts are blocked and backing up a bit due to swelling.Follow up with your surgeon to ensure all is okay.
One photo shows your concern clearly ,but the other does not? You should review with your surgeon, but it is likely something that he will assess and watch over time.
