Thank you very much for enquire.It's too early to make value judgments with only 1 week post op after a rhinoplasty.Swelling after a rhinoplasty depends of the surgery complexity.In this regard, the nasal swelling Post-op It can last from two weeks to two months.To reduce this swelling, I recommend you perform delicates daily lymphatic drainage massage therapy over the face (around the nose) avoid sun exposure, and take pain/inflamation pills, as your surgeron precribe you.Kind regards, Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-

The nasal bones of malleable for up to 3 weeks after surgery.  You can stand front of a mirror and push on the nasal bones to move them to your desired location.  You have to apply gentle pressure for a while and do it several times during the day.RegardsDr. J

Thank you for your question and photos.  As you suspect, it is too early to make solid judgements about the shape of your nose.  Swelling and sometimes asymmetric swelling will obscure the true contour that will reveal itself as the inflammation subsides.  Make sure you express your concerns to your surgeon.  All the best!

One photo shows your concern clearly ,but the other does not?  You should review with your surgeon, but it is likely something that he will assess and watch over time.

Though I agree with your assessment You MUST allow at last 3 to 6 months healing before considering revision surgery......

Your concerns are very valid Alex, but be reassured that it is just entirely too early to tell, and asymmetries this early can work themselves out as the swelling resolves. Continue to follow up with your surgeon and monitor the progress as you are healing to ensure your best possible result.

You are correct that you are very early. The swelling is sometimes molded by they splint and it can make one side look a bit different. I would give it some time and keep in contact with your surgeon. Best of luck

Thanks for the question, and I believe you have already been answered several times  with a very accurate  response.  You are only several days after the surgery and the very basic differences in the shape of your nose are very obvious.  Your nose is significantly thinner and better shaped.  You have a greater degree of delicacy to the overall shape.  I would follow any and all advice that your operating Surgeon would recommend to you.  Give it time.  You will continue to see changes in the shape up to 6-12 months after the original surgery.  If you have specific questions that you are concerned about I believe that your Surgeon would be glad to help you with an appropriate answer.Good luck to you.Frank Rieger M.D.  Tampa Plastic Surgeon

Follow up with your surgeon as you are in the very early healing stage.  If your nose has moved, your surgeon may be able to tape or show you how to do healing exercises to stabilize it.
