I have had my lips filled on Wednesday, has been 5 days since and I can't really notice much of a difference now the swelling has gone down. The nurse put a 0.5 syringe in (that's 0.5 for both lips) and now I'm wondering if I should have had more? I paid £150 thinking I was getting a good deal, as others pay £250 plus but turns out others have had a 1cc syringe.
Answer: Restylane - Do I Need More In My Lips? Thank you for your question. I'm sorry you are unhappy with your results. In general, a 0.5 ml syringe split between the upper and lower lip is usually not enough volume to produce a significant change. Although pictures would help in providing specific advice, a minimum of 1 ml is usually needed. Patients often require 2 ml to achieve their desired outcome. Please see a board certified plastic surgeon who commonly performs these injections. Hope this helps.

Answer: Restylane for lips Restylane can be a great product to plump and shape the lips. The amount of volume needed depends on the desired end results. Usually 0.5 cc would be a small amount and not make a substantive difference if spread so thinly. If more volume is desired, more can be added. In general, 1-2 cc's are necessary for most patients.

Answer: 1cc In my practice we tend to use a full syringe per patient and do not split syringes. If the patient is happy with the results of .5 a syringe then fabulous! We keep the other half for when they want to be injected again. In most cases we see that patients want at least 1 full syringe (1cc). If you feel your lips are not full enough, I would go ahead and schedule to have another injection done to get the look you are wanting. I wish you the best of luck and hope your injections turn out great!

Answer: 0.5ml lip filler Hello Many thanks for your questions. Typically 0.5 mls is on the smaller side for lips. It depends on the size of your lips and the result you want. With this amount the result will be subtle and more natural looking. You can always have more added after the swelling has reduced. The type of filler used is a good filler. I would advise you to go back to your injector and explain. All the best!

However, the amount of volume needed will depend on your desired result. Typically, 0.5cc for both lips is a small amount any may not make that much of difference. You can always have more filler injected if you desire more volume. Usually, most patients require 1-2 syringes to achieve their desired results. I recommend having a follow up to discuss your concerns with your injector. Best of Luck!
