What can I do about my crooked nose?

samanthadb,Your body is still maturing and changing. Your nose is slightly crooked, however, the appearance of your face is not based on individual features but rather the sum of all the parts. Your facial structure determines the appearance of your face and there are certain ratios that elicit beauty.I suggest you wait until you are 18. In the meantime, I suggest you consult a board certified facial
plastic surgeon to receive the highest quality knowledge, treatment, care and
skill available. That way, should you choose to go forward with a Rhinoplasty at age 18, you have a great base on knowledge and have already established a rapport with an experience, well-trained, well-educated and highly skilled surgeon.

Rhinoplasty for the crooked nose, bulbous tip etc. you are old enough to have these issues corrected. See a very experienced rhinoplasty surgeon to give you a more attractive and feminine nose.

At 16, from an anatomic standpoint, you are old enough to undergo a rhinoplasty which would be able to address some of your concerns. Altering your facial features as a 16-year-old however, really is a big deal. Are you doing it for the right reasons? Will it solve the problems you are expecting it to solve? Support from your parents and family is a big part of this. I would start by having a long discussion with your parents about this. If you all agreed that this is something that would make sense investigating further, visit an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon who includes computer imaging as a part of his or her preoperative evaluation. There are 2 main issues you need to figure out at this point. Is a rhinoplasty really the right thing for you? And, is this really the right time to do it? If it is the right thing to do but not the right time to do it, it'll still be the right thing to do in another year or 2. Good luck.

 A closed rhinoplasty approach can address straightening of the crooked nose. Osteotomies will need to be  applied to the nasal bones. Sometimes a cartilaginous spreader graft is harvested from inside the nose and placed underneath a concave upper lateral cartilage in the midportion of the nose. Dear samanthadb:       Don't fret! Please schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon or facial plastic surgeon in your city. The Rhinoplasty Society is a great place to find surgeons who do a lot of this type of surgery. You need a complete history and physical examination, perhaps imaging or endoscopy, and maybe even computer imaging. All these things are important for a complete and accurate diagnosis. You continue to post requests but you really need to seek in person examinations for surgery. Even at age 16 you can have surgery with parental consent...

I would suggest seeking experts in the field of rhinoplasty surgery and going on some consultations. If the consulting surgeon has digital imaging then you could see what the proposed changes to your nose are and how they look with your facial aesthetics. Consultation with experts will help you answer any questions or concerns you or your family may have. You evan look at before and after books and try and find noses similar to yours for evaluation. Once these steps have been taken this will allow you and your family the ability to make a very informed decision regarding surgery. With social media and selfies there is certainly more attention brought to the nose and angles of ones face. Knowing how this affects many young ladies self esteem it makes the procedure that much more rewarding for both surgeon and patient alike.

You are old enough to straighten and refine your large nose because the nose is fully grown at age 16. If your parents agree consult with an experienced rhinoplasty specialist who will give you a natural non-surgical result.
