I had a hump removal done last year, and this is the result. It was supposed to be an open rhinoplasty, but the surgeon decided while I was under anaesthetic to do a closed one. There is a huge, flat, gaping plane between two deformed pieces of bone. I was told this was likely a preventable open roof deformity caused by a botched hump removal. Can any other Doctors comment/confirm that?

You are still very early in the healing process and you will see continued improvement in the appearance as time progresses. Swelling and healing can take a full year to resolve after this surgery so try to be patient as your body recovers.
Thanks for your question. Having some changes in your skin after rhinoplasty is not too unusual. I typically recommend that our patients see an aesthetician for a hydra facial treatment. Good luck as you heal!
The limited photograph demonstrates a hanging columella, an overly projecting nose, and a dorsal hump. All this can be addressed with a closed rhinoplasty approach with all incisions placed on the inside of the nose. For many examples and more information, please see video...
