Left with blue stitches 5 weeks post rhinoplasty. Do I need to remove it? Will it cause any harm to final results? (photo)

Rhinoplasty dr Hi, plz can someone help , Its been 5 weeks since I have done my sinus and rhinoplasty surgery together, but In the past 2 weeks I just found out that there is a blue colur stitches left on my septum a if im not wrong! So cuz I have done my surgery abroad I can go back to see my Dr , but im so worried now dont know what to do , its good to leave it ad its or it should be removed, as you can see from my pic, many thanks

Hello and thank you for the question. This is likely the underlying sutures for cartilage reshaping that is being exposed and will likely be extruded. I would try to see a local plastic surgeon for an in-person evaluation. Best

It is difficult to tell whether that is a skin suture that should have been removed or if it is a deep suture that is trying to come out. Either way the best thing is to see a specialist and have the suture removal if they think it is appropriate. I wish you the best, Dr. Ardeshirpour

It is difficult to tell exactly what's happening on the picture but this could either be a skin suture or a cartilage suture. I would recommend that you seek consultation with a board-eligible or board-certified plastic surgeon or ENT surgeon who can appropriately examine you and determine the best way to proceed.
