I recently gained a lot of weight. I was wondering if I should get a circumferential liposuction & Thermage?

Since no pictures are shown, and the weight of the patient is not given, one must re-iterate that liposuction is a body contouring procedure for diet and exercise resistant fat. It is not going to help a patient maintain a steady weight if diet and exercise are not maintaining a normal caloric balance. As soon as the liposuction is done, the weight will start to come back at the areas treated with liposuction and other fat storage areas.  That said, if one's weight is stable, area liposuction can be helpful in contouring any area. Optimal results are always when one has reached the limit of weight loss with diet and exercise.

Body sculpting is a way of improving parts of your body in order to make you look more proportional. It's not to be done for weight loss.Every few years or so, something "new" comes into the field claiming to be the "best and brightest" and least invasive method of achieving quality results.Thermage was such a tool and has not met expectations.The main stay of body contouring continues to be liposuction (conventional, ultrasound or laser assisted). Each and every experienced, board certified surgeon, will have his/her best way to accommodate their patient's needs.Please consult with an ABMS and ASPS Board Certified Plastic Surgeon to get the best treatment possible.Good luck.

I think a picture would really help, as it is very difficult to give a good response without it.  Make a consultation with someone who does a lot of body contouring, who maybe able to remove the fat but also shape you.  If there is too much skin however, you may not be a good candidate for liposuction alone and may require a tummy tuck or additional skin tightening procedures.  I wish you the best of luck, Dr. Emer.

Liposuction is a great tool for body contouring; however, it is a short lived and unreliable tool to treat intermittent weight gain.  At a formal consultaton your surgeon can discuss your candidacy for liposuction as well as the lifestyle investment you would need to make to maintian a long lasting result ("to protect your investment").

Choose a board certified
plastic surgeon who has done a ton of Brazilian Butt Lifts and has privileges
to do this surgery at a local university hospital. This says his credentials
have been checked out by fellow Drs. All surgeries carry risk, talk to your
plastic surgeon and choose one wisely.

Liposuction is not an answer for weight gain. A good diet and exercise is important to get down to your ideal weight.

Sorry about the weight gain.  Frustrating.  As you already know,  you are a good candidate for liposuction.  The areas of concern for you should respond well to liposuction.  Your skin looks relatively healthy and should do well following the procedure.  Thermage   used in conjunction with liposuction is safe, just pricey!  The true benefits are hard to prove in a case like yours.  Good luck with your decision and procedure. 

From your photos, I believe liposuction would be a reasonable option for you.  The Thermage treatment may help reduce you circumference temporarily but will not last beyond a few days to weeks.  However,  remember that anything we offer as plastic surgeons - liposuction, tummy tucks, etc - are adjuncts to, not substitutions for, a good diet and exercise program.  It always pays to watch your weight.  Best wishes, Dr Lepore.

Without a photo or an exam we really can't give you much in the way of recommendations. I can tell you this - a friend of mine bought the thermage and said he had excellent results, but only in the patients who lost a lot of weight after the treatment. In other words, save your money and skip the thermage.
