thank you for your question. I always recommend to my patients daily lymphatic drainage massage therapy 5 times at week for the next two months.Kind regards,Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-
I believe post lipo/bbl massage to be very important to drain out any excess fluid. I have my patients start the next day and then once a day for about 6 sessions. This is typically sufficient.
I do feel that massages help after the procedure I usually encourage my patients to start after two weeks and I offer one free massage a week for 3 weeks . Now everyone swells differently, if you're very swollen you may need more . In general all swelling goes away, with or without massages. Messages can help make the process quicker .
Dear Girtl24242,every plastic surgeon has his own postoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. I would suggest you to discuss this topic with your plastic surgeon.Daniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MS Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, Am. Society of Plastic Surgery
Greetings. I usually recommend massage treatments only on the areas of liposuction and not at the area of fat transfer. The massages can start within 2 days after the procedure and can continue for 2-3 weeks. Every surgeon has a different recommendation or opinion on massage treatments so make sure to discuss this with your surgeon. Good luck!
This is different for every patient. I recommend for my patients to get 1-2 professional lymphatic massages starting the 2nd week after surgery. After that I assess the patient to decide if they need more lymphatic massages or need to transition to endermologie or deep tissue massages.
Hello dear!!Thanks for the question. Usually 10 massages are the amount recommended, one at day. If you can and want you could have more massages.Hope this could help, good luck :)
Personally I don't believe massage has any impact on the final results after liposuction. My practice is devoted exclusively to liposuction and fat transfer procedures only. For my patients I instruct him to absolutely not massage areas or fat has been grafted.I believe massaging the area's or fat has been grafted will inhibit the ingrowth of blood vessels to the grafted fat. Each doctor has their own protocol and you should ask your doctor what he or she recommends.Best,Mats Hagstrom M.D.
