I typically just call the abdomen the abdomen, which includes the upper and lower abdomen. Perhaps, they are including the sides as well?
I recommend following up with your Doctor about what area(s) are being treated. Each Doctor can divide up the areas differently. For example, some divide the abdomen into two areas: upper and lower or 4 quadrants. 3 area may refer to that quadrant. For liposuction, I recommend a hi-definition procedure to get the best results. I use VASER with ThermiRF and fat grafting to get the most fat removal, contouring and definition. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
The "3 area abdomen" is not standard terminology for the anatomy of the abdomen. Liposuction of the abdomen is usually defined by the upper and lower abdominal areas. So, I would inquire from your surgeon what this means. Good Luck.
Most plastic surgeons consider the abdomen to be the area from the hip bones to the area just below the ribs. Think of it as roughly a "Bell" shaped area (see image below). Some surgeons like to break the abdomen down into several areas for marketing reasons (I.e. price) and occasionally we need to focus more on the upper abdomen (above the belly button) than the lower abdomen or vice versa. Don't be afraid to ask for clarification and make sure to use a board-certified plastic surgeon with experience in liposuction.
Hi knicolem,Normally patients receive liposuction of the abdomen in three areas, Upper abdomen, Lower Abdomen and Flanks. I would suggest asking your surgeon for clarification. Best of Luck!
Thank you for your question. Sounds like marketing terminology. There aremultiple modalities that can be utilized to perform liposuction, but in the end, they all remove fat from the area treated.
Liposuction is a wonderful procedure to remove unwanted bulges of fat. The terminology must be something your surgeon uses in his practice, I am not familiar with it. More importantly, make sure your doctor treats the area(s) that bother you, let him/her call it whatever he/she wants.Good Luck!
I'm not sure. It sounds like either a gimmick or that your PS is separating out the areas on your abdomen that need lipo (abdomen, flanks, waist?) so you know it's not just one area but 3 and you will be charged for all 3 areas. Nothing unusual if it's the latter situation. Just beware of little marketing ploys or gimmicks that the public is always falling for.
Generally speaking the abdomen consists of the upper and lower abdominal areas but many patients also add the hip roll or "grab handle" area at the same time. If this is the case with you then that is the explanation. Enjoy your results and if you have any questions obviously discuss them before surgery with your plastic surgeon.Jon A Perlman M.D., FACSDiplomate, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS)Beverly Hills, California
Thanks for posting your photos. Liposuction does not cause stretch marks and you seem to be an acceptable candidate since you're so young and having been pregnant. Good luck on your upcoming procedure. Warmest regards, Dr. ALDO
Thanks for your question. You should start using scarAway strips after the scar is completely heal. This usually happens between the 15 th day. Some times the surround of the lips incision is damage or peal and it can take a litter bit longer to heal, please, check with your doctor before using...
Liposuction is one of the most surgeon dependent procedures and can be combined with other procedures as well. Most patients want to have liposuction that produces a dramatic result, but that also leaves the skin smooth as though surgery was never performed. These two issues are di...
