The ER will likely refer to a plastic surgeon or a radiologist to have this drain. You should find a new plastic surgeon in Dallas to see you about this complication or return to see your Atlanta physician. Best wishes, Dr. ALDO
Yes, you can visit the ER to have your seroma evaluated and treated. You can also contact your Doctor for a referral in your area. I recommend lymphatic massage, hyperbaric oxygen and rf treatments to expedite healing. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
Post liposuction seroma is a known complication. Early aspiration combined with compression is the best method of preventing recurrence. Patients are encouraged to be evaluated as soon as possible in the event a seroma develops. In your particular case (being distant from your operating surgeon), and ER evaluation is a reasonable first step. They can evaluate and image (US) as well as potentially arrange for drainage by an interventional radiology specialist. Additionally they may be able to offer some guidance in finding another provider in the Dallas area to follow up.Finally, I would encourage you to reach out to your operating surgeon for further guidance, it is very likely that they have a board certified and qualified trustworthy colleague that they can refer you to for follow-up. They will also be able to facilitate the transfer of any pertinent medical records.Best of Luck
You are best to see a plastic surgeon in your area to see if they will treat you first. That is often the better solution. Best of luck.
Thank you for your question. If you are having fever, chills and signs ofinfection then being seen in a local emergency room is appropriate. If you arenot having any symptoms, then contact your surgeon back in Atlanta, GA and askfor referral recommendations. If they are unable to help you, call a plastic surgeonin your area to set up an appointment.
The ER can certainly get the ball rolling by performing an ultrasound of the area and determining if it needs to be drained. If so, that would occur by an interventional radiologist and is a fairly simple procedure. It would be best, however, to contact a local plastic surgeon and there are quire a few good ones in Dallas.
The ER would be a place to start. Possibly the ER can refer you to a local plastic surgeon. Explain that you moved and have your records available. My best, Dr Commons
There are always nonsurgical options but the improvement is nothing like the improvement seen with liposuction.
Drains are used for tummy tucks or for surgeries where a large area is being opened. In liposuction many small tunnels are made to remove the fat and from the incisions you will drain or your body will absorb the fluid and it will work its way out when you urinate. You should have been i...
Swelling is normal after liposuction and can last 3-6 months. I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding coolsculpting/vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus ...
From the photo you provided, it looks like your buffalo hump is composed of fat. No matter what caused it, if you are dismayed by the look of extra fat on your back, liposuction is an excellent choice to remove it. If you'd rather not undergo surgery, you can also look into noninvasive...
I appreciate your question.I would recommend that you discuss this question with your surgeon as every surgeon has their own respective post op protocol for his/her patients. Your surgeon is your best resource as he/she is most familiar with your medical history and how you are healing at this ...
I think that you can have liposuction to help create a better jawline based upon the pictures.Kenneth Hughes, MDLos Angeles, CA
