Want to slim down lower face and tighten skin - do I need chin lipo or filler? (photos)

Morpheus 8 is a non-invasive skin and soft tissue tightening treatment that is consistently amazing in our patients. We use the Morpheus to exact fractional induced RF into the skin or tissue in order to tighten collagen and stimulate contraction of the tissue. For acne scars, it is quite useful to build collagen in patients who have atrophic scars but is not very productive for ice-pick scars which require TCA Cross. For tissue tightening, Morpheus is ideal for the face and neck and we often combine it with CO2 laser or Ultherapy to further enhance results. Chemical peels and skin resurfacing should be done at least 5 to 7 days after, but can be performed earlier, depending on treatment severity. Avoid exfoliating skin treatments before Morpheus and expect a period of 2-4 weeks for skin contraction to set in.

Thanks for your question. It is difficult to assess the photo since it is only one angle and your head is turned, but it does appear that you have a subcutaneous fat pad that would respond to lipo. Chin liposutcution will remove fat in that area, while jawline/chin filler will add volume to the jawline and anterior chin. Sometimes both are needed.I recommend a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon with experience in chin liposuction and fillers for more information.

Photos from other angles would give us a better understanding of your facial anatomy, however I would not recommend filler. This would only create more volume. My recommendation would be submental (under the chin) lipo along with jawline lipo and buccal fat removal. Buccal fat removal (BFR) would reduce some of the fullness in your cheeks and take some of the weight off the jowls. Submental and jawline lipo would breakdown and remove some of the fat, as well and tightening the skin in those areas. You may even think about a neck thread lift. This is a minimally invasive treatment modality designed to reduce subcutaneous fat and tighten the skin of the lower face and neck. It works through radiofrequency energy delivered deep to the skin to cause tissue contraction. Sometimes we combine FaceTite with Morpheus8 (RF microneedling of the skin itself) to tighten the skin further. This procedure is typically done in the office under local anesthesia with minimal downtime. It will help slim the lower face and neck and tighten the skin, without many of the downsides of surgery. This is my expertise and a huge portion of my practice. Asymmetry is normal and expected. Buccal fat pad gives slimming not symmetry. Masseter botox will make you slimmer and make the jawline more loose. Fillers help give shaping and contouring. If you want perfect or close to perfect symmetry you need maxillofacial surgery or implants customized. I suggest seeing an expert to go through all options. Most of my younger clients use fillers to give them shaping especially on the cheeks, jawline, and chin which make the face look more slim and tight; and threads such as PDO or Instalift can build collagen and support the facial shaping and skin looseness over time, slowing down the aging process and given the face a more “snatched” look; and morpheus8 or PiXel8 deep microneedling RF can tighten crepe skin especially on the neck and jawline and is great for long term tightening of the full face, neck and chest; its often used to give the face a slimmer more sculpted look because it tightens the skin and gives lift. an early face lift can be performed as well even in younger clients if they want a different facial shape, maxillofacial surgery with bone breaking or shaving can also be done. For facial slimming a combination of treatments are always needed. Options include: 1. Buccal fat pad removal to reduce fat on the lower face 2. Facial liposuction - in goods hands- could offer you really nice results. It looks like you would be a great candidate for chin/neck liposuction.

I would recommend to schedule a consultation with a board certified facial plastic surgeon. During the consultation, make sure to ask for before and after pictures of the procedure.

There are 3 procedures I recommend to patients to create a more defined lower 1/3rd of the face. The first is submental liposuction, this would turn out nicely for you. The second is buccal fat removal, it is a mild reduction of fullness lateral to the commissure of the mouth. The third procedure is a small chin implant to improve the neck/chin angle at profile view, it's a subtle improvement that improves the projection of the lower face.

More information is needed such as a full set of facial photographs from all angles in a chin neutral position. You appear to have fat deposits located both above and below the platysma muscle in the neck which may require a neck lift procedure. Liposuction can only remove the fat deposits above the muscle and will be ineffective. No skin removal is required.

Based on 1 posted at an oblique angle photo I think sub chin lipo with lipo reduction and buccal fat removal would help slim out your face. Best to virtual consult with.....
