If you like the feel of the compression garment, then you should wear it. I don't believe it will ultimately change the results. I do think that local scar control strategies like tape or silicone sheeting would be helpful.
healing after tummy tuck revisioni have my patients tape and wear compression. silicone strips may help and eventually biocorneum or similar scar product
Thank you for your pictures. I particularly like to have my patients wear a compression garment. Your incision's appearance will continue to improve over the next 2 to 3 months.
I don't think there would be any harm in wearing a compressive garment but there is no scientific evidence that it will do any good. You should follow the advice of your surgeon.
I would not call a dog-ear procedure a reconstructive surgery! It is a small and easy revision. I would not require my patients to wear a garment for this. If you think back, your whole incision probably felt like these two sections right after surgery. Just follow the advice of your surgeon. Good luck.
We can not advise what post op protocols you need to follow. Ask the revision surgeon exactly what you need to do....

Removal of "dog-ears" usually does not require undermining (dissection of tissues beyond the surgical site). Because of this, a compression garment (abdominal binder) may not be needed but it may still be helpful to expedite the healing process. Your plastic surgeon will be the best at knowing if a compression garment is needed. With regards to the "puckering", it should smooth out with time as the sutures dissolve and the tissues relax. All the best,Dr. Remus Repta

A minor or mild degree of excess skin at the end of tummy tuck incision or scar are referred as "dog ears". Depending on the amount of skin and fat that has to be removed, the problem can easily corrected by excising the excess skin and fat under local or general anesthesia. Best of luck.
Dear Barbara,You may want to evaluate a full tummy tuck revision where the scar is lowered, the belly button re-done, and any additional repair such as abdominal wall tightening and liposuction are also included if needed. You will likely end up with a small vertical scar between your...
