With any surgery, it is always a good idea to remove body piercings if possible. The reason for this is that an electric cautery is used during surgery and the metal in the piercing might cause a burn to the surrounding skin. When I do the Trans-Umbilical Breast Augmentation (TUBA), a technique for inserting saline implants through a small incision in the belly button, we don't even use a cautery so body piercings can be left in place. If piercings are removed, they can always be replaced following surgery.
Thank you for sharing your excellent question. Nipple piercings need to be removed in order to prevent complications associated with the electrocautery unit used during surgery. Either they can be replaced immediately after the procedure or a temporary plastic spacer can be used. Hope this helps.
Typically we ask that you remove the metallic rings/piercings fron the surgical site as the cautery might cause burns. If the piercings are very new, a plastics spacer can be used as it doesn't conduct the electrical current. The piercings can be replaced immediately post operatively
Thank you for your question. The nipple rings need to be removed before surgery and can be placed back in after surgery. Hope this helps!
Metal nipple rings need to be removed before surgery because the cautery that is used to stop bleeding as the tissues is cut, can cause the metal to heat up and cause a burn.
The nipple rings can be removed right before the surgery and replaced right after the surgery. Best of luck.

Metallic nipple rings need to be removed during surgery but can be replaced. Another solution is to place plastic spacers to keep piercing open.

The implant selection should be based on a combination of your desired size, soft tissue dynamics, breast base diameter and skin elasticity. I recommend an in-office examination as well as a detailed discussion with a surgeon who you are comfortable with. Finally, make sure your...
