I am a very smol 20 year old woman, 5'2 and 68 pounds and would like to have breast augmentation surgery. I'm an A cup right now. How big could I realistically go and would surgery be safe for me?

Answer: Breast augmentation in thin patients I agree with other experts below. At 68 pounds, your health is at risk. You should consult with a board certified plastic surgeon to start the discussion, but you may need to wait for cosmetic plastic surgery. As for breast implant size, we use silicone sizers and 3D imaging to help patients choose their ideal implant size.I hope this helps.- Dr. Bryson Richards

Answer: Breast implants not recommended for you As the other doctors have stated, it’s not whether you are too thin for breast augmentation, but that you are too thin in general. There are safety issues when undergoing any procedure, but when you underweight, those risks increase, just as they would if you were overweight. Before considering any type of surgery, please consult a primary medical physician – you may know the reason why you are underweight, but you are at risk for so many health issues and should talk to a doctor to receive the help you need. Take care and good luck!

Answer: Breast augmentation Hello and thank you for your question. The best advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation. Breast augmentation is frequently performed in thin patients. However, with your BMI being so low, I recommend that you speak with your primary medical physician prior to considering surgery. After that, I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person. Best wishes and good luck. Richard G. Answer: Size The implant selection should be based on a combination of your desired size, soft tissue dynamics, breast base diameter and skin elasticity. I recommend an in-office examination as well as a detailed discussion with a surgeon who you are comfortable with. Finally, make sure your surgeon is a Double-Board Certified Plastic Surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS), a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgery (ASPS) and the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS).Best,Dr. DesaiBeverly Hills Institute for Aesthetic Plastic SurgeryHarvard Educated, Beverly Hills & Miami Beach Trained, Double-Board Certified Plastic Surgeon
