Can I get lipo without tummy tuck? (photos)

kramoss88.   You are probably not going to like hearing this, but your first step should be diet and exercise because this is your best option. At your age, it is highly likely that you can achieve your goals without surgery. However, liposuction can be an excellent option for you for those areas unaffected by weight loss and working out. Seek out a reasonable diet and exercise program and after giving this your best shot, consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon in your area. Good luck.

Thank you Kramos88 for your question.  Liposuction will only take fat away and you will get some skin retraction, but I do believe in your case you will still have extra skin.  According to your pictures I believe you would be a better candidate for a tummy tuck procedure.  Tummy tuck will give you the flattest belly that you can get along with contouring from the liposuction.  I would recommend seeing a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon to evaluate you to see what your a candidate for and to discuss your goals.  Best of luck to you. 

Liposuction will really flatten your tummy and get rid of the rolls but you will have loose wavy skin but nothing sagging down.  A tummy tuck is by far superior results but the easiest is lipo and if you want to look better in clothes only then lipo will do the trick.

In you photos, you can see skin folds, aka "rolls," which signifies you have loose and excess skin. No matter how much liposuction is preformed by the board certified plastic surgeon you choose, you will always have those skin folds. Although you will have a better contour after just liposuction, it will be hard to focus on the contour because the excess and loose skin above and below your belly button may distract you.  However, speak with you board certified physician and talk through your expectations and their options. Due to the loose skin you appear to have, you’ll most likely be left with  some amount of hanging, saggy skin after liposuction alone. The circumference of your mid-section may decrease, however the saggy skin may negatively impact your results. This saggy skin may hang over the top of your pants and you probably won’t be as happy with your results.

Hi thank you for your question along with your photos. Liposuction can remove excess fat, but will not address excess skin. If you do liposuction you would most likely be unhappy with the results since you will more than likely have loose skin remaining. A tummy tuck in addition to the liposuction will give you a flatter stomach overall. If you are planning to have kids in the future then it is best to hold off on a tummy tuck. Hello and thank you for posting photos along with your question...What you can likely expect with just lipo alone is ONLY a decrease in the fullness of your trunk. You have excess skin that should be addressed if you want the best result. If a patient similar to your photos came in to see me I would recommend 360 degree lipo with full tummy tuck for the overall BEST result. I have attached a before and after of a patient similar to you (individual results can vary). I would not have been able to achieve this result without performing the tummy tuck portion. Based on your photos, it looks like you have both excess skin and excess fat.  The rolls are evidence of excess skin, and the thickness of the rolls, or the thickness of what you can pinch shows how thick the fat is. Liposuction removes the fat underneath the skin, but does not remove the skin itself.  It will only get your rolls thinner.  They will not remove your rolls.  A tummy tuck can remove the excess skin and some of the excess fat (more in some places than others).  Seek a plastic surgeon certified by The American Board of Plastic Surgery for evaluation and discussion of your options.

Based on your pictures, I would suggest that you lose some weight before considering surgery in order to make yourself a better surgical candidate and also to achieve your best result.  You have some excess skin and fat of the abdomen.  Removing fat alone via liposuction will only leave you with more hanging skin.  With that in mind, I would recommend a full tummy tuck with some peripheral liposuction for contouring.  I also recommend that you schedule a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon who can examine you in person and review your options with you.

Based on your photos, I would suggest a full abdominoplasty with liposuction to achieve a flat abdomen and a balanced figure. I think that you would have a great deal of loose skin with liposuction alone. Good luck!
