Divertculosis is not a contraindication for having LIPO. Your PS will ask for approval from the physician treating your diverticulosis to ensure that the diverticula are not inflamed at the time of the scheduled surgery. Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
Hello dear!!Thanks for the question and provided information as well. Please talk to your primary doctor to see if you are clear for plastic surgery and then I suggest you to book a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss the best options for your goals.Hope this is helpful. Good luck :)
Patients with acute diverticulitis should not have elective surgery and would need to be medically proceeding with surgery. A patient would not want to have liposuction whereby post operative pain could be masking a problem with acute diverticulitis. Patients who have had diverticulitis in the past can have liposuction and should undergo a postoperative stool regimen so as to minimize constipation after surgery.
Thank you for your question. If you are not in acute phase of diverticulitis, you can have liposuction. If you have active diverticulitis you should be treated first before any elective surgery.
