In order to get the best results from your Coolsculpting treatment, it's best to be at your ideal weight, if not close to it, and have a healthy lifestyle in place. The purpose of Coolsculpting is to dissolve stubborn fat that is resistant to diet and exercise. That said, excess water weight will not interfere with the treatment. The area targeted by the applicator will see a 20% reduction in fat. Some patients may require multiple treatments if de-bulking of the area is required.Best of luck,Dr. Philip Solomon, Solomon Facial Plastic, Toronto, Canada
No, this won't impact your results. Keep in mind, for best results with Coolsculpting, a combination approach is needed. I recommend adding radiofrequency treatments like Vanquish, Venus Legacy, Exilis Ultra for skin tightening and with Z wave/Cellutone for skin smoothing. VASER with ThermiRF is a great alternative. Getting rid of extra water weight will not change anything as far as the number of fat cells are eliminated with each application. Getting as close as possible to your ideal body weight will help get the best results though.
Getting rid of extra water weight will not help freeze more fat cells. Please consult with a provider. Regards,
No, getting rid of extra water will not affect the number of fat cells that are eliminated with Coolsculpting. First of all, it is not a good idea to dehydrate yourself intentionally before this procedure, and secondly, even if excess water weight is lost, the amount of fat that is treated by the machine will not be more concentrated. Coolsculpting technology targets fat cells to kill them off and they are eliminated from the body over time. As adults, we have a fixed number of fat cells in our body. They can increase or decrease in size if we gain weight or lose weight. Coolsculpting will reduce the number of fat cells by about 20 to 25% percent in the treated area. The fat cells will then leave the body during the months following the procedure.
CoolSculpting is a non-invasive procedure that eliminates the subcutaneous fat. Water weight will have no affect on this treatment even if someone rids themselves of it. Drinking water is natural and beneficial to the human body. Consult your doctor for more details.
I do not believe that reducing water weight would have any impact on your CoolSculpting results. We use RF Vanquish in combination with CoolSculpting and for that treatment we have the patient's hydrate by drinking a lot of water for a few days before the treatment. This really helps the RF Vanquish results. Dr Adrienne Stewart
No it will not make a difference if you get rid of water weight before coolsculpting. You should be well hydrated for health reasons but it will not alter the outcome of coolsculpting. Each time the procedure is performed we anticipate a 20-25% reduction of the fat. The closer the patient is to their ideal body weight, this reduction is more obvious.

No problems or concerns with taking any supplements, including magnesium. That will not affect your results.

Hello, Thank you for your question and picture. Unfortunately Coolsculpting does not work on the cheeks. However you may consider some fillers in the lateral face/scalp. This can help lift the face, which would address the "heavy" or "saggy" feeling that you are concerned about. Good luck!
