You need a formal evaluation by a licensed plastic surgeon and expert in breast lifts, revisions and augmentations to determine what is best for you and your goals.Breast lift surgery can improve a woman's breast shape by repositioning the breast mound at a higher position on the chest and then centering the nipple and areola on the breast itself. If there is enough breast tissue, I can perform a highly aesthetic mastopexy without the addition of further volume by internally rearranging the breast tissue and removing excess skin. If more volume is needed, especially in the upper portion of the breasts, we will discuss the possibility of fat grafting or silicone gel implant placement. The type of incision required for this surgery (circumareolar, “lollipop” or “anchor”) and the lifespan of the lift depends on each patient’s condition, breast tissue, genetics, weight and hormonal fluctuations, and desired results. Augmentation with mastopexy is a challenging surgery that requires significant experience to create a shape that is youthful, natural, and proportionate to the body, while managing the native tissue as well as fat grafts or implants. When performed properly, it can result in a dramatic improvement to a woman’s breast appearance.I suggest consulting with a board-certified plastic surgeon and expert in Breast Lifts. - Dr. Cohen
You can certainly get a breast lift which will reduce the size of your areolas. Occasionally a small amount of the pigmented areola tissue that would normally be removed has to be left to avoid excess tension on the skin. That is best determined at the time of surgery. It can be removed later if it is an issue. I would recommend doing the lift first and then coming back at a second operation to add implants if you would like more volume.
Hello.Great question. Thank you for your pictures. Based on your images, you can benefit from a breast lift procedure. Please visit a board certified plastic surgeon for a detailed surgical plan to achieve your desired results.
Thanks for your question. Yes you can get this procedure done safely. The key is working with an expert, board certified plastic surgeon.
Based on this photograph, it would be challenging to completely reduce the areolas using conventional methods. You may do best with a staged, or 2-step surgery to lift the breast and reduce as a first stage and then augment and reduce more as a second stage. With good tissue re-positioning, an implant may not be required, and with advanced technique, a single stage intra-areolar reduction could produce a good result. You would need to review all of these options with an appropriately credentialed surgeon in order to choose the best option for you. Good luck!
Yes, you can still get a breast lift, which will also reduce the size of your areolas. Your breast tissue will be repositioned to a more optimal location on your chest. This can be done with minimal tissue besides skin being removed. I would recommend then having implants placed at a second stage if you wish to have more volume. Best of luck!
Your areolae are very stretched out but can be reduced. You may well need to have the surgery done in stages to get the best result safely. Atlanta has plenty of excellent plastic surgeons. You should get other opinions.
The technique I recommend is a lift using The Bellesoma Method. This will reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained. The areolas can be reduced to the size you desire. At the same time or later, fat transfers can be performed if additional volume is desired. Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.
Hello and thank you for your question. The best advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation. Based on your photographs, the best shape and contour could be achieved with an implant and a breast lift. You do have very large areolar pigmented tissue, but this can be removed during the lift. The size, profile, and shape of the implant is based on your desired breast size/shape, your chest wall measurements, and soft tissue quality. This decision should be based on a detailed discussion with equal input from both you and your surgeon. Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results. Best wishes and good luck. Richard G. Dear northskyy,My preferred lift is a lollipop lift when a periareolar won't do (ie greater than 2cm lift required). The lollipop technique was created by a Canadian plastic surgeon named Elizabeth Hall-Findley and treats the breast as a three dimensional structure instead of two dimensions (anchor - lift). Most importantly it does not require the horizontal component scars that the anchor-lift requires and breasts appear much more natural, lifted, and less boxy. Lastly, the lift lasts longer because the lollipop doesn't rely on the skin to hold the breast up, its actually breast tissue thatsbeing brought together to support the breast and hence improves longevity. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
I would first do the lift. If you are happy with your size, then avoid implants. Once healed at 6 weeks, then do micro-needling with radiofrequency for the stretch marks.
Yes, scars, including burn scars, do respond well to massage as well as to other scar products like Mederma, Scar Guard, and even micro-needling.
No, your areolae will not shrink once stretched, Once you reach your weight loss goal, then consider getting a lift. the areolae can be made smaller if you want.
