I'm a 25 with 1 child who was breastfed. I had a bi planar insert 450cc smooth high profile done May 23. (2 mo ago). I had slight tubular breasts W/ some sagging Dr wasn't concerned about; with loss of upper fullness. My left side is soft, you can't feel any implant. My right side you can feel the firmness of the implant. I'm very worried that something is wrong w/ my right side as it hasn't dropped really. I feel like it has a horrible "snoopy" effect, I'm starting to freak out. Help please!

Answer: 2 months postop, dominant breast not dropping Thank you for sharing your question and photographs and I can see your area of concern. It is difficult to offer definite advice without having seen "before" images but at two months, and with the size of implant placed, it would not be unusual for your tissues to have continued tightness and swelling causing the elevated position that you currently see. Relaxation of the muscle tissue and skin can often take up to 6 months to take place so I know it is difficult but hang in there and allow your results more time to mature. Each breast's appearance should see steady improvement

Answer: Breast implant settling after augmentation It definitely takes a while for breast implants to settle after augmentation, but at two months you can usually expect to see something similar to the final results, which happens usually between 3 to 6 months. You should discuss this with your plastic surgeon. By six months you should know if you need a revision to alter the implant position. In general, this should be a straightforward operation, but it does require a trip to the operating room.

Answer: Implant dropping Dear CountryGirl0924,dropping of implants is part of the healing process and this occurs after the tissues surrounding the implants slowly relax, allowing the implants to settle into their final position. It can take about four to six months for the implant to drop down to their final position.I understand that you are worried about your implants are not dropping as expected. However, you are still in the early phase of the recovery period. Please do allow some time for the healing process to occur. If after six months, you are not satisfied with the appearance of your breast, you can visit your plastic surgeon and discuss your concerns.Daniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MS Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, Am. Answer: Give your implants additional time to settle into place. Congratulations on your breast augmentation! Although it can be hard to be patient for several months while awaiting your final results to reveal themselves, keep in mind that at two months post-op, you’re still fairly early on in your recovery process. It could take six months or more to see your final results, so don’t panic just yet. Over time, your implants should both “drop and fluff” and settle into a more natural looking and feeling position. If you have specific concerns about your body’s healing process, don’t hesitate to check in with your plastic surgeon. Good luck!
