Thank you for your question. Likely not if there is no metal. Please speak to your plastic surgeon for specific pre op instructions as every surgeon has their own protocols.
In our practice we do not request that patients remove their micro weave, but you should speak with your surgeon's office to see how their surgery center works.
Thank you for your question. While you shouldn't need to remove your weave, it is best to check with your surgeon on their own preferences. Good luck on your procedure!
Dear Azealia, You have to realize that you will be laying down for about 2 - 21/2 hours, so anything in your hair that can cause pressure sores on your scalp should be removed. Best thing for you to do is have your beads examined by your surgeon, so he will be able to assess the possible risk. If the beads can cause such problem, they should be removed before surgery, otherwise, the can be left in place. Best of luck, Dr Widder
Hi there,The best advice I can give you is to ask your surgeon for his preop instructions. In my office we meet in advance of surgery to review all pre and post instructions so there is complete understanding of what to expect and what to do before and after surgery.Good luck!In good health,Ellen Mahony, MD
Usually micro weaves do not need to be removed pror to surgery, but this would depend on your surgeon's protocols. It is best to consult with him directly.
Hello and thanks for the question. Usually there is no need to remove your microweave since the anesthesia team will use protective padding and make adjustments to accommodate your hair. You should discuss your concerns with your surgeon and anesthesiologist. Good luck Best, #drburnett #realself100
It does not sound like the weave will be problem, but ask your surgeon and follow his/her advice.Best of luck!

Thank you for your question. The concern is that should this we've contain a fair amount of metal that it could attract the electric current that used for the surgery. We have found, in our patients, that this has not been necessary and have not seen any problems using the electrocautery with the small amount of metal associated with a weave. That's just our opinion, I'm sure there's others that may differ. I would go along with whatever your plastic surgeon feels safe. Best of luck with your surgery.
Sorry to hear about your incident. I would suggest trying to call your plastic surgeon’s office again to explain what happened and seek his or her advice. You’re most likely okay, but it’s not a bad idea to go in for a check up just to make sure that everything is still healing okay. In the m...
Thank you for your question. It is difficult to explain how to measure your breasts. I would return to your surgeon and have them show you so that you can gain a better understanding.
Thank you for your question. I would recommend visiting your plastic surgeon for an in-person assessment.
