Tummy tuck, mini tuck or just lipo? I also have developed a small overhang. (Photos)

question. Based on your photograph, you are a great candidate for a tummy tuck
with liposuction.  This can be done
through a low and short incision, all completely below the bikini line.  The belly button can be designed to look
natural and have no scars on the exterior.  
Your muscles can also be plicated resulting in a flat abdomen.  Make sure you specifically look
at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery
performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results.  The most important
aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend that you seek
consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate
you in person.

That hanging skin could be improved with a full tummy tuck. This would target the areas above and below your belly button.

So glad to hear that you are a survivor! Congrats!Because of the amount of lax skin and subcutaneous fat above your belly button (and the laxity in the underlying muscles) you would be extremely disappointed with results from just a mini tummy tuck (and lipo alone will do nothing to get rid of the "sass."). You will get the best aesthetic outcome from a full tummy tuck. This would entail an incision from hip bone to hip bone just above the pubic bone. The belly button is released and all skin from the BB to the pubic bone is removed (goodbye "sass!").  Then the muscles are tightened from the breast bone to pubis, leaving you with a flat tummy. 

You are definitely a candidate for a standard TT with some liposuction for additional definition. The lower abdominal contracted scar is creating the buttocks appearance. This scar and the lower abdominal fat would be eliminated. You need to be seen for a definitive recommendation. 

Your best option is a full tummy tuck. A more limited procedure will not give you the best results. Best wishes.

From the submitted photos a full tummy tuck with liposuction would be recommended. This would remove excess subcutaneous fat and skin as well as correct abdominal wall laxity. The liposuction would be a tool to contour your curves. The result would be a flatter, tighter tummy. The best place to begin is a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon near you.

Dear mp1025,You would fair very well with a full tummy tuck.  If that option is not on the table for you, then a mini tummy tuck to remove the lower pannus and liposuction, possibly with fat transfer to revise the the scar creating your "sass" (great word btw) would be another possibility.  Good luck!

Hi and thanks for your question!  You would be a great candidate for a full tummy tuck.  I would recommend against a mini and against liposuction alone as  you have excess skin which would only be addressed with a full tummy tuck.  Best of luck!
