I had slight bruising under my left breast following surgery but noticed today after work it had gotten much worse. I wore my compression strap for 11 hours today and it was tight. Is this brusing normal or should I be concerned?
Answer: Bruising normal two weeks after breast augmentation? Thank you for sharing your question and photograph. If the bruise developed deep into a patient's tissues it may take time for it to display on the skin surface. As long as your implant appearance has not changed then likely all is well but if it has certainly check in with your surgeon for an in-person examination.

Answer: Bruising after breasts augmentation Dear Apollo, Thanks for posting the picture, though, fully exposed chest picture would have been helpful. The spotty bruising is most likely from the needle injection of the local long acting anesthesia that was given to you after the general anesthesia induction. I inject the breasts margins and give inter costal nerve block to all my breasts augmentation patients for bleeding control and long acting anesthesia of the chest. So it is not unusual to see the spotty bruising coming up after surgery. The bruising from hematoma are much more diffuse and the there is obvious asymmetry between the breasts, as far as size. That is why full chest picture would have helpful. If you have any concerns about possible hematoma, contact your surgeon and discuss it with him or arrange for examination by him. Best of luck, Dr Widder

Answer: Bruising after surgery Thanks for your question. It is certainly possible to still have bruising 2 weeks after surgery. As long as there is no sudden increase in pain or swelling in the breast, there should be no cause for concern. If you have either of these symptoms, or you notice a change in the appearance of your breast, I suggest you schedule a follow-up with your plastic surgeon to ensure that recovery continues to go smoothly. Take care.
