I advise patients that driving can resume after they are unwrapped and are not needing to take any pain medication or muscle relaxers. Patients also need to feel they are recovered enough from surgery that they are able to react quickly to be safe when driving a car.
You can usually drive a few days following surgery, if you feel comfortable doing so. Your chest may be sore and your arms may be limited in movement, so take this into consideration before you get behind the wheel of a car. You cannot be under the influence of pain medication or muscle relaxers when you drive.
Generally speaking, you’ll probably be able to start driving again about a week after surgery. By this time, you should also no longer be taking pain medications. However, your surgeon will provide you with this information, so please listen to them.
Thank you for your questions. Most patients are comfortable to drive 1 week after surgery, as long as they are no longer on pain medication.
You will need to be off all narcotic pain medication and be cleared by your operating surgeon before driving.
Hello,First of all, you cannot drive while taking any pain medication so that is your first restriction. You must be off pain killers. Secondly, it depends on what kind of driving we are talking about. A short drive to work is different than a several hour drive. Follow the guidelines of your surgeon. Good luck.
xNoemie. I recommend waiting one week before you drive because turning the steering wheel engages the chest muscle and that could cause bleeding. When you do start driving, be certain you are not taking any narcotic pain meds. As always, consult with your surgeon. Good luck!
Some of my breast augmentation patients are driving as early as three days after surgery, as long as they are not on any narcotics or similar medicines. More than 90 percent are driving by the fifth day after surgery. It's always a good idea to check on your surgeon’s protocol.Dr. Ted EisenbergBoard-Certified Plastic Surgeon and Author
Provided that you are off your pain medicine and feeling comfortable, then you should be able to drive the next day after your breast augmentation.
You can usually drive when you're not in pain and not taking muscle relaxants or pain medications. This is variable from patient to patient, but usually is 3 to 7 days after surgery.Congratulations and good luck!Dr. ALDO
Thank you for your question. It is difficult to tell without an in-person assessment. You could be describing some fluid or air. Please consult with your plastic surgeon
Congratulations on having a breast augmentation. It appears your plastic surgeon did an excellent job. Some post operative bruising, usually at the bottom of the breast, is absolutely and completely normal. In my opinion, your bruising is minimal and should resolve in the next 2-3 weeks. ...
Thank you for your question. This could be associated with your antibiotics. Please speak with your surgeon.
