Got rhinoplasty cast off :) My nose is still sore. Is that normal?

So I got my nose cast of three days ago, I know its still very soon and I know most swelling is supposed to go away within a month , as far as the results I like them , ( got a bump removed from bridge) but its still so sore , I was trying to put make up on and its almost impossible. I'm not in terrible pain or anything but its just very very very sore, is that normal?

It is normal for your nasal bridge to be sore and tender, after all your nasal bones were broken on the dorsum more than likely along their base.  For this reason, avoid any glasses or even gentle pressure on your nose so as not to mobilize the bones as they heal.  These restrictions are usually in place for about 6 weeks.

The simple answer is yes. It is normal to be sore if you are applying direct pressure over the surgery site.

Some people are hardly sore at all, but for some it can last.  As long as it is getting better and not worse then it is probably normal.  It is a very good idea to discuss this and any other concerns with your surgeon.

ONLY 3 DAYS!!!!! Healing and discomfort (pain) can last for a few weeks. Best to discuss with your surgeon this issue.....

As it has been less than two
weeks since your surgery, there is still a great deal of swelling and settling
that still needs to occur. It is completely normal for your nose to still feel tender. As your nose went through some major
changes, it may still be a few months before the tenderness subsides. However, it is still best to discuss your concerns with your surgeon as well.

It will still be sore to touch this soon after surgery. Especially if the septum and tip were fixed the Tenderness May last another couple months. Therefore be gentle with your new nose especially avoiding any activity that puts it at risk like basketball, volleyball, etc. If the bones were fractured it takes about 3-4 weeks until they can tolerate minor trauma

In general, most patients are not sore when the cast comes off, but everyone is different. Discuss your concerns with your surgeon as he is monitoring your healing.
