I had a deviated septum and lots and lots of sinus infections. I knew I needed surgery, but put it off for years after hearing awful stories about the recovery. Dr. Loury was the first doctor that inspired my confidence. And the results have been phenomenal! Much less snoring, no sinus infections at 6 months post op, and my nose is straight (after decades of looking like I lost a fight). I can breathe through my nose!!! I'm so glad I found Dr. Loury. He is kind and compassionate. You can tell that It is very important to him that his patients get an outstanding result. I highly, highly recommend Dr. Loury!
I had a Septoplasty, Turbinate Reduction, and Rhino-Tip Plasty done early March 2019 with Dr. Loury. I chose Dr. Loury because I have seen first hand his skills in the operating room. As an OR RN I have the pleasure of witnessing his work. He is meticulous, thorough, and detail oriented, not to mention his aesthetic skills are spot on! Not only can I breath better, which I noticed right when I went to the recovery room, but my bulbous tip on my nose is much more feminine and beautiful! He is truly amazing, and caring! He even called me on the weekend to check on me while I was recovering! If you are back and forth, trying to make a decision about an ENT specialist or needing some aesthetic refining- look no further! You will not be dissapointed!
My experience with Dr Loury and his staff during my facelift was an amazing experience! He was so concerned about me and let me know the reality of my expectations before, during and after the process. He is a wonderful human being that I have so much respect for. Thank you so much for what you have done for me. I will be eternally grateful.
I had a lifestyle lift, CO2 laser and upper eyelid surgery. Dr. Loury's bedside manner, professionalism and his understanding of what I wanted was wonderful. Everything went really well and I couldn't be happier with the results. His staff is very professional and their response time to phone calls or questions I had was very good. I would highly recommend Dr. Loury.
I looked so much older than I felt. The procedure took 10-15 years off my appearance. My eyes are bright, the CO2 Laser removed wrinkles and revitalized my skin. I'm proud to wear necklaces again. Inches of loose skin was removed from my neck and my chin and jaw line were re-defined to how they used to be. I could not be happier. There is nothing not natural about how I look. No one would look at me and think that I had a face lift. Wish I had done it years ago!
Approximately two years ago, Dr. Loury, who at the time was a part of the Life Style Lifts team in Denver gave me a facelift and full-face laser . A week after he performed my face-lift, Life Style Lifts declared bankruptcy and closed its doors. Dr. Loury, who was probably under no obligation other than moral, honored the agreement signed with Life Style Lifts and he performed all follow-up meetings in his primary office in Fort Collins to assure I was healing and progressing correctly. Not only that, but a touch-up procedure was needed and Dr. Loury did that a year after the original procedure without any additional costs. Two years after the fact, I remain very pleased with the results....it's great having my chin back and eye lids lifted, but most incredible of all, is what a huge difference was made by the full-face laser.
Excellent experience, from the initial pre-op consult to the final post-op results. Dr. Loury has a calming demeanor, while remaining professional and knowledgeable. His entire staff is great to deal with, and I would highly recommend this practice to everyone!
Aging is never easy and it was most apparent in my sagging neck and jowls. I came to know of Dr. Loury from a nurse who worked with him in Denver. She always told me that if I were to ever get my neck lifted he was the physician to see. She told me he had the highest patient satisfaction of all the physicians she worked with. She was right. The moment I walked into his office I was met by his wonderful and professional staff. At my consultation Dr. Loury completely put me at ease with his kind and gentle manner. My surgery went very smoothly, I had no bruising and very little swelling. I was very well taken care of before during and afterwards. Everyone says I look 15 years younger and I owe it all to Dr. Loury and his team. My before and after pictures will tell you just how skilled and wonderful Dr. Loury is. Dr. Loury has even performed some sinus procedures on my son who had suffered from asthma issues for years. He was greatly satisfied and also had a great experience with Dr. Loury and his staff. I have recommended Dr. Loury to all of my friends and clients and you will love his work just as much as I do! Don't hesitate to call and set up a consultation. I promise you won't regret it!
I broke my nose 2 different times, and I was very self-conscious about it. As a result, I was very quiet and did not do many things with friends. Since I have had the surgery, I am no longer self-conscious about my nose. It has caused me to be more outgoing and to enjoy spending time with others. In addition, I had a deviated septum, and my breathing was blocked. Often you could hear my breathing because of the obstruction. Since the surgery, I breath with ease.
I had a growth on my thyroid and another ENT doctor recommended cutting my thyroid out when the results of a needle biopsy indicated unclear results with a chance of cancer. The doctor said we were about 5 years out from a more definitive test (which very few doctors at the time had the ability to utilize this test) to determine whether or not my thyroid was in fact cancerous. I visited Dr. Loury to get a second opinion, and he already had access to the Affirma test, which indicated I was cancer-free. I am thankful to still have a healthy thyroid! I was impressed with the great questions Dr. Loury asked in the first visit and the time he invested to thoroughly access my medical history. As it turned out, I had nasal polyps, sinusitis and a deviated septum, so Dr. Loury performed a sinus surgery. The recovery was about a week and I was pleasantly surprised with limited pain, having heard horror stories from others experiencing similar surgeries. Breathing is great; my husband thanked Dr. Loury for the better sleep he gets now that I no longer snore! My 7-year old son has battled with allergies and asthma. Dr. Loury identified enlarged adenoids that needed to be removed and some turbinate issues. The surgery was very short and the recovery time was almost nothing. My son has been breathing easier and rarely gets sick anymore. His teacher even noticed his eyes looked brighter.
An interesting fact is that the nose makes about 1-1.5 pints of secretion daily so some drainage is normal. There are many different causes for excessive mucous so it's best to see an ENT physician who can help diagnose and treat your condition. Best wishes.
Thank you for your question. I'm sorry to hear that you're having this problem. There are a variety of causes such as poor blood supply, too thin skin, excessive wound tension, or trauma from the forceps used during surgery. If you're only three weeks Postop it's important to give it time to heal, e.g. 6-9 months. If it persists then the scar can be slowly removed. CO2 laser and some antiscar creams can also help reduce scarring. Best wishes
Dear Etsy, this could be a very serious problem. If not already done, it is important that the edges of the septal and palate holes get biopsied and blood work done looking for autoimmune and vasculitis conditions. If these have been done then there are ways to reconstruct the palate and septum. The simplest way to manage the palate defect would be a denture with an obturator that fills the hole so what's in your mouth doesn't get into the nose. Hope this helps. Keep me posted
When the skin is lifted from the nasal bones and cartilage structures the small nerves are severed so that the nasal skin is numb. Almost always the sensation returns to normal. Postoperative swelling can also cause some altered sensation with facial movements around the nose. What you're experiencing are is completely normal. Hope that helps
Thank you for sharing your concern. Open roof can manifest as the swelling subsides. It can result from scarring distracting the nasal bones or if they weren't completely mobilized. Widening is a common consequence. Share your concerns with your surgeon who can discuss corrective options. Best wishes
