I've narrowed my choice down to two. I know one does a lot of rhinoplasties. He pretty well known and posts here. The other is also an otolaryngologist and facial plastic surgeon, but there is less info online about her. I suspect she does fewer plastic surgeries. My nose is not the most difficult, but not easy. I have dorsal hump, long nose, tip needs refining, deviated septum from injury as a kid. Also a few sinus issues. Is one rhinoplasty a week sufficient? Thank you! Eva.
Answer: Tough question It is a good question, but not the only one you should take into consideration. You should make sure the surgeon is board certified, has specific rhinoplasty training, has good reviews and can show you before and after pictures. Typically a surgeon who does 1 rhino or more per week (50+ per year) is considered a busy rhinoplasty surgeon.

Answer: 1-2 per week As far as frequency goes, a surgeon who does one or two rhinoplasties per week is most likely very skilled in rhinoplasties. I would also take the number of years each surgeon has been performing rhinoplasties into consideration – the mor experienced, the better. In addition, I recommend analyzing each surgeon’s patients’ before and after pictures to get an idea of the quality of work each surgeon does, paying special attention to how symmetrical and natural the results look. Best of luck in choosing your surgeon.

Answer: Rhinoplasty surgeon experience A busy and experienced rhinoplasty surgeon usually does 4-6 rhinoplasties per week, and has performed thousands of rhinoplasty surgeries in his/her career. Look at their board certification, reviews, ratings, testimonials and their before and after photo gallery to get an idea of the quality of their work.

Answer: Experience of a Rhinoplasty Surgeon DEar Eva414, It sounds like you need a septorhinoplasty which is a combination procedure addressing both the function and aesthetics of the nose. The "septo" portion will address the deviated septum caused from previous trauma to the nose. The "rhinoplasty" portion will address the aesthetics of the nose. It is important that your surgeon has experience in this area of nasal surgery. Personally I perform several rhinoplasty and/or septorhinoplasty procedures per week and have been doing so for thirty years. While experience is key in rhinoplasty the surgeons results and patient satisfaction are most telling. Review your surgeons before and after photographs and find pictures similar to yours, read the surgeons reviews, and then make an informed decision. Best regards, Michael V. Elam, M.D.

Answer: Experience of a Rhinoplasty Surgeon While experience is a very important parameter when selecting a rhinoplasty surgeon, quality should also be considered. Look at a surgeon's results in patients who had noses like yours. Select the surgeon who has a large number of patients with consistent natural results.
