I Want to know if I could get my nose to be lowered by the septum and to thin it out slightly while increasing the profile of my bridge. I also want a slightly sharper tip. I just want to know if what I am thinking for myself is feasible and get professional insight.
Answer: What can rhinoplasty do for you? The concerns you have about your nose are very common, and it is very possible to add length to your septum to correct your columellar retraction and refine your tip. It is also possible to take away some of the feeling of alar hooding, or the sense that your nostril hang over the columella and make the central part of your tip feel blunted. You should come in for a consultation with rhinoplasty surgeons who have extensive experience with noses like yours to ensure a great result. All the best,Jason Litner, MD

Answer: What is possible with respect to altering your nose? The short answer is yes, definitely. Based on these photos it appears that your alar lobules are lower on your face than your columella and this would benefit from lengthening your septum as you've mentioned. Your tip can be moved farther out from your face and the bridge raised to balance things out. These are quite commonly requested changes and since you are a primary case you should bet a good candidate. It is possible that you will require cartilage harvested from your chest wall or ear(s) to provide what is needed to accomplish your goal.
