Breast lift with pacemaker: is this possible? (Photo)

 A breast lift is not a particularly physiologically stressful operation. With clearance from a cardiologist you should be able to have this operation done safely.

You're a great candidate for mastopexy ( breast lift). If your cardiologist provides medical clearance- then your surgery can be scheduled.

If your cardiologist gives you
clearance for anesthesia, I would not hesitate to proceed with a breast lift without an implant.

Provided your cardiologist feels you are a suitable risk for surgery you should be a good candidate for whatever procedure you choose with advice from your plastic surgeon. A lift could be done. If you want more even size, a reduction on one side is your option since you seen to exclude augmentation.Check with your cardiologist, then seek consultation with a plastic surgeon. All the best. 

I ask my cardiac patients to get medical clearance from their cardiologist prior to surgery.  The pacemaker supersedes an elective breast surgery. 

Regardless of how much you dislike your breasts, you MUST understand you are asking for "I WANT" Surgery NOT "I NEED" surgery. No one has ever died because they had a flabby tummy, flat chest or sagging breasts.It is unusual for a 55 year old woman to have a pacemaker. That implies some kind of a defect in how your heart normally beats. What is the exact anomaly? Are there any other anomalies? I do not know of ANY plastic surgeon who would rush in to operate on you and risk losing you on the table without a thorough clearance from a Cardiologist.That being said, all of us have operated on people with pacemakers. There are various techniques to do so including placing another pacer into the heart through the jugular vein and disabling your pacemaker temporarily BUT again it all depends on what you have and weighing risk and benefit.I would start with your Cardiologist. Would he/she support your having such surgery? How does he/she think your pacemaker would react to the electrocautery we use to cut and stop bleeding? Based on that opinion I would pick the plastic surgeon your cardiologist chooses and see what they have to say.

Assuming you are in good condition otherwise and your other doctors OK the anesthesia risks,a breast lift can be done.Obviously special planning vis a vis location of the pacer and wires needs to be coordinated with the surgeon and cardiologist

Technically there is no reason that a pacemaker would interfere with your surgery. The real question is the risk level you face due to your cardiac status. That is a question for your cardiologist.
