If you are looking for a plastic surgeon who is truly knowledgeable, caring, personable, honest and respectful, then you will be pleased with Dr Peter Aldea. My surgery went well, and I was pleased with the outcome day one post op and was not in much pain at all even after the anesthesia wore off. No opiates were required. After my first lymphatic massage, I had a nickel size thin layer of skin peel off my upper arm just above my incision when I removed my compression garment. That situation showed me how much Dr Aldea and his staff cared about me not just as a patient but as a person. When I called to check in and share what happened, Dr Aldea had me to come into the office immediately to assess my situation and provided me and my husband with guidance on what to do to ensure proper wound care. My incision was not compromised and there was no real concern if I followed Dr Aldea’s care instructions and kept the office updated. The small skin tear looked worse than it was, so I did not freak out. I continued to do exactly what Dr Aldea instructed me to do and within a month in a half the nickel size tear was healed and my incisions on both arms were healing very well. Dr Aldea took care of me every step of the way and assured me we were in this together. Whenever I had a question Lily was right there to take my call or text and gave me a quick response from Dr Aldea no matter what day or time it was that I texted. There was no waiting around for hours or the next day to get a response. If I had any concerns on the weekend or after hours, Lily was just a text or phone call away for whatever I needed and for that I am grateful!! The patient care and customer service the office provided exceeded my expectation. I LOVE my results thus far. I understand the healing process takes six months to a year and I am only a couple months post op, but I can tell anyone, I have no regrets. All I can say is, this one surgical procedure and experience has changed my life, and I am forever grateful to Dr Aldea at Cosmetic Surgery of Memphis and his staff who were always pleasant with every interaction. I highly recommend Dr Peter Aldea. You will be in safe hands.

Dr. Aldea and his staff provided excellent care for me. He is knowledgeable and takes his time. I always felt comfortable. He made sure that I knew what to expect as far as outcomes. I had some hiccups, but I am 6 months out now and I have my confidence back in how I look in and out of clothes!
I had a Tummy Tuck in March by Dr. Aldea. Very happy with the overall experience and outcome. I knew exactly what to expect going in. He was attentive and took his time with me and explained my options. An excellent doctor and surgeon! So happy with my results! Thank you, thank you!! Also worth noting, is his office staff. Lily was available 24/7 after my surgery. She called to check on me, and also stayed in touch over text. This was very comforting and reassuring. A world class surgeon, staff and a world class experience! Very grateful!
Dr. Aldea was a true professional. He explained every step of the surgery and I had complete confidence in him. My results were way beyond what I expected. The staff was very professional and courteous. I would refer him to anyone needing his service.
I came to Dr Aldea with concerns about my access skin that I had after having kids and weight loss. I was very impressed from the moment I walked through the door. The staff was amazing and Dr Aldea was phenomenal! he answered all of my questions and concerns from the first visit. His assistant Lily helped tremendously, from setup of my surgery to ever question or concern that I had. My tummy tuck procedure went very well. I am now a little past 3 weeks post op and I am loving my results!!! I highly recommend Dr Aldea for any cosmetic needs!!!
Dr. Aldea was amazing. He was very thorough. I had lipo 360 and am extremely satisfied. The main thing I wanted was to be able to fit in my jeans again. Now I have to get a smaller pair. Not a bad problem to have. I’m 3 1/2 weeks post op and am told o still have some sweing that will go down. You cant go wrong with Dr. Aldea results are amazing. He even gave me some subtle abs.
Dr. Aldea is awesome. He just gets it! He was honest with me about the procedures. He talked to me about my goals. What I was wanting, what I would need in order to achieve those results. he doesn’t just see cosmetic surgery as a job. This is a passion for him, contouring bodies. Each surgery is like a work of art for him. Each of us is a new and blank canvas and he is the artist. I am only two weeks postop from my first procedure and I’m already feeling great, loving the new shape the contours of my body I’m no longer a rectangle. I have some feminine shape. Shape I didn’t even have before having kids!! I am a whole new me and so glad I found Dr. Aldea. Just as importantly Lilly his office manager is phenomenal always available to answer questions, extremely knowledgeable, very fluid and flexible. With my job and my timeline somethings were extremely compressed and no matter what issue arose, Lilly was able to find a solution and solve the problem and make the day that much better. It didn’t matter what time of day or night I needed to reach her, She always went out of her way to be there to answer questions to just provide a listening ear and to be a good friend. I would 100% recommend Dr. Aldea and his team!!!! They truly are the best!!!!
Dr. Aldea was my first and last cosmetic surgery consult in Memphis. His knowledge is vast, he is honest and friendly. It’s been about a year since I’ve had my surgery and I’m very pleased with the results!!

My SPUNK has been elevated on a level that I could have never imagined!!
Liposuction has become a needlessly confusing topic. At its most basic, Liposuction involves the removal of fat from under the skin (NOT from inside the belly) by having it sucked into stainless steel tubes (cannulas). ANY such fat removal qualifies as "liposuction" and there are many ways to get the fat to become more "liquidy" BEFORE it is sucked into the cannula (such as Heat (laser lipo), Ultrasound (VASER), Vibrating Water jets (Aqualipo) and Power Assisted (PAL). The mere removal of the fat with lipo, depending on your ethnicity, skin condition, body area and age WILL result in some overlying skin shrinkage. The fat removal, if done well, will improve your appearance and this is the way 90% of liposuction is done.A much more invasive way is to literally unveil the fat masking the muscles, creating a much more muscular you by using HiDef / 4D/ Total Definer / Liposculpture, a techniques which takes longer because it is a sculpting procedure more than just a removing operation. Fat is ALSO added to the pectoral muscles in men and to deficient areas of the buttocks, as needed, in women and men, creating athletic appearing figures. The results can be breathtakingly impressive.Regards,Peter Aldea, MDMemphis, TN
If you hold a breast implant on the palm of your hand and tilt your hand at nearly 90 degrees the upper portion of the implant WILL ripple and create folds. You can replicate this with a Ziplock back full of water. The same exact thing happens when a surgeon places a breast implant into a breast which lacks sufficient skin thickness and soft tissue coverage with would otherwise cover these ripples up.For this reason, implant must be chosen in conformance with the availability of the breast tissues to cover them. Putting large implants in small women is a guarantee for ripply breasts. Saline implants are heavier and more rippling than silicone breasts. When not enough coverage tissue is available, it must be created by either using a biological or man-made mesh (such as Stratice) between the implant and the overlying breast skin or by grafting your fat into the overlying skin and tissue to thicken them. Neither one of these procedures are cheap and you need to fully understand their possible complications.Regards,Peter Aldea, MD
It sounds like you may be a great candidate for a Brazilian Butt Lift. A Brazilian Butt Lift involves liposuction of the lower back and hips to define and bring out two round hemispheric buns and then to augment them with your own fat. Such an operation has much nicer results in slimmer not in obese women. The key, as in everything we do in life, is to pick a great surgeon. One who would listen to you and who has the experience and sense of artistry to create the best result possible. Peter A. Aldea MDMemphis, TN
Although you do provide very helpful photos you did not provide your before Smartlipo photos for comparison nor do you state WHY you are unhappy with your current result. Without seeing your initial photos at the beginning of your journey of self-improvement it is hard to guess just how much the smartlipo took you or if it was the best option at that time. At this point you appear to have residual fat pockets both above and below the belly button and excess skin above and below the belly button. If you are bothered by the residual fat only and not by the loose skin then a revision liposuction may be needed by an experienced Plastic surgeon. However, liposuction is NOT a substitute to a tummy tuck which will narrow your waist and remove all the loose skin. This may have been the procedure you should have had instead of the Smartlipo but without an examination of old photos it is but a guess. If you want total tummy flatness then a well performed Tummy Tuck may be the answer you are looking for. Peter A. Aldea, MD
Sakine breast implants have a valve and opening in the tip of the implant through which we fill them. Once they are out under the breast the fill tube is removed and the opening is pushed close. To change size you would have to have surgery to go through the breast to the valve, open it and either add or remove saline. This cannot done by putting a needle through the skin into theimsvt which would cause gradual deflation of the implant. Be aware that removing a significant amount of saline from the implant or underfilling them would result in implants creasing and rippling as well as to a much higher rate of early shell weakening and implant rupture.
